Exciting Zodiac Landings
The number of shore excursions you can expect will vary depending on the ship you choose for your Arctic expedition and the climatic conditions. Most Arctic expedition ships try to allow you to spend as much time as possible off the ship. Your Arctic excursion will take place on sturdy, inflatable Zodiac boats with small groups of around 10-12 people.

Arctic Shore Excursions
Itineraries including Greenland have more than one Arctic excursion such as Qassiarsuk in the south where Eric the Red had his settlement in the 10th century; Nuuk, the country’s oldest town and the island of Disko, where the University of Copenhagen maintains a research station. Further north, visits to towns such as Qaanaaq and Siorapaluk afford opportunities to experience the culture of the Inuits and how they mix traditional and modern lifestyles. There are always opportunities for wildlife viewing, especially birds but also musk ox, arctic hares and caribou.
