Silver Explorer
Silver Explorer was built as an expedition vessel with ice strengthened hull. Silversea, purchased it and undertook a complete refurbishment to convert it into a luxury vessel with standards of comfort and service to match other ships in the Silversea fleet, including cuisine by Relais & Chateaux, staterooms and suites with marble baths and butler service. All 66 staterooms and suites on board are of a high standard.
There is one restaurant serving buffet or table service breakfasts and lunches and a la carte dinners; room service is available at all times. There is also a lecture theatre, a well stocked library, a lounge bar with humidor and a lounge/observation deck. Beverage service is also fully inclusive of non-premium liquor (although there is a high threshold before a premium standard is reached!). Apart from the expert lecture programme, entertainment is limited to an evening pianist, some home-grown performances by the crew and in-cabin satellite TV and DVD. There is also a small spa and fitness centre, a sauna and two decktop hot tubs. Polar travellers receive a complimentary parka and water resistant backpack.
Ocean Adventurer
Ocean Adventurer (previously known as Sea Adventurer) is a purpose built expedition ship with ice-strengthened hull and first class accommodation and facilities. All 61 cabins have outside views and private facilities, including some with exterior access and outside seating. Public areas include dining room, lounge and presentation room, library, 2 bars, gift shop, clinic and exercise room. Other facilities are satellite communication and massage therapist. There is a forward observation deck and other open deck areas.
MS Fram
The MS Fram has been specifically designed for those who thirst for adventure. As an expedition cruise ship, it is an ideal base camp for explorers. The ship places a high priority on your comfort, which means that after a long day of exploring, you can kick back and relax in a hot tub or enjoy a meal at one of two restaurants, including an outdoor BBQ. You can also socialize with other guests over cocktails in the Explorer Lounge & Bar, taking in the stunning views as you go.
At the heart of MS Fram lies the Science Centre, where you can learn more about the places you'll be sailing to and listen to talks by the Expedition Team. The ship is equipped with key expedition features and technology, making it the perfect vessel to take you on a journey of discovery to some of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions on the planet.
The MS Fram offers an expedition experience that will bring you closer to nature and leave a lasting impression. The recent 2022 upgrade has given the ship a fresh new look that's quintessentially Nordic, while still keeping exploration and learning at the forefront of the experience.
The Science Center has been expanded and improved, and there's now a larger fleet of small expedition boats available for off-ship exploration. Lecture areas have been upgraded, and you can stream Expedition Team talks directly to your cabin.
One of the most notable aspects of MS Fram is the way the ship has been designed to blur the line between inside and outside. The Explorer Lounge & Bar, gym, sauna, and hot tubs all offer panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. The top-deck BBQ allows you to dine al fresco and enjoy local flavours, while numerous artworks commissioned from local Arctic artists adorn the interior, adding an extra layer of inspiration to your journey.
M/V Ventus Australis
The elegant Ventus Australis has been designed to effortlessly access parts of Patagonia that few ships can reach, featuring the extreme manoeuvrability necessary to navigate narrow fjords and channels. Holding up to 210 passengers in excellent comfort, the vessel’s size, length, draft and engine power are simply perfect for in-depth exploration.
With a relaxed atmosphere on board, there are three welcoming lounges to enjoy some relaxation and onboard wildlife and landscape observation. There is a spacious dining room where delicious chef-cooked meals are served, and accommodation is provided in 100 very comfortable and well-equipped cabins, most of which have large feature windows.
