— LET US DESIGN YOUR TAILOR-MADE TANZANIA SAFARI Call us on 01625 581122 Northern Tanzania is one of Africa’s great safari circuits, and for families travelling with teenagers or young adults, perhaps as a celebration pre- or postuniversity, it offers the perfect blend of wildlife, culture and wide-open adventure. Our featured route (10-12 nights) moves through a sequence of characterful camps and landscapes that is designed to keep the experience fresh and exciting from start to finish. TANZANIA A SAFARI YOUR FAMILY WILL NEVER FORGET The Northern Circuit, Tanzania Arrive in Arusha to stay at Arumeru River Lodge, a straightforward first stop after a long flight. It’s a good place to settle in, spend time outside and get your bearings with Mount Meru in view. The adventure begins as you head to Tarangire, staying at Maweninga Camp on a granite kopje above the surrounding woodland. It’s a great starting point for teenagers: open skies, frequent elephant sightings, and a park that feels low-key. From Tarangire you move up into the cooler highlands for Bashay Rift Lodge, which works well as a base for the Ngorongoro Crater. The setting is relaxed and familyfriendly, and the crater day tends to be intense in the best way; lots of wildlife and changing scenery packed into a single drive. The drive then cuts across Maasai country to Olduvai Camp, a useful break between the crater and the Serengeti. After that, Grumeti Hills puts you into the western Serengeti with a bit more variety built in, including guided walks and night drives alongside the regular game viewing. Conclude in the north at Mara River Post. July to September is the key window for the Great Migration, when large herds push through with Mara river crossings a dramatic highlight. As a family or multi-generational trip, the pacing makes sense: you get a mix of landscapes and camps without trying to cram in too much. It also allows different ways to engage; classic game drives, time on foot at Grumeti, and plenty of big, memorable wildlife moments along the way. | 15 FAMILY ADVENTURES
