Green Desert Safari

From Maun you will take a short flight over the Okavango Delta to Ntswi Island where you will be met by your safari guide and taken to Gunn’s Camp. Overlooking the legendary Chief’s Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve this really is a superb camp for wildlife enthusiasts.

Today you can chose from taking a relaxing mokoro (dug-out canoe) ride, a boat cruise, fishing trip or a game walk on Chief’s Island or a combination of these activities, no matter which though you are almost guaranteed a wonderful wildlife sighting.

After breakfast you will take a short flight to Pom Pom Island which is located in a private concession in the heart of the Delta that not only offers superb scenery but a true Okavango wilderness experience.

Your time at Pom Pom Camp can be spent doing morning or evening game drives within the private concession, giving you the opportunity to view all the big game and night life the area has to offered. Otherwise you can opt for a relaxing mokoro ride to explore the surrounding waterways or a fishing trip to try and catch the African Pike and a variety of bream species.

A morning chartered flight over the Linyanti Marshes will take you to the private Kwando Reserve in which the stylish Lebala Camp stands.  This vast reserve has gained a reputation as a top African safari destination for big game, especially predators, so prepare for an action packed couple of days

During your two nights at Lebala you will have the opportunity to partake in all sorts of activities including game drives, night drives, nature walks, mokoro excursions, boat cruises and fishing (seasonal). A distinguishing factor of this camp and Lebala Camp is that all game drives are guided by two people, a professional guide and a tracker.  This enables the guide to focus on his interaction with the clients and communicate points of interest while the tracker ensures no sighting or tracks are missed.

This morning you depart Lebala enjoying a final game drive on the way to the airstrip and catch your onward flight to Chobe National Park. From here you will be transferred to Chobe Safari Lodge, on the banks of the Chobe River.

Due to the fantastic physical location of the lodge a variety of activities will be on offer during your stay including morning and afternoon game drives (into Chobe NP which boasts the largest concentration of elephants in Africa), sunset boat cruises, fishing trips, scenic flights and Namibian village walks.

After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to Kasane for your onward journey.  However if you don’t feel ready to go home just jet why not extend your trip with a visit to the nearby Victoria Falls or cross over the Namibian border to explore the Caprivi strip.
