Victoria Falls - Arrive

Having arrived independently to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe you can make your way to your hotel for your included overnight stay. We recommend arriving a day or 2 earlier to give you the chance to explore around the falls, enjoy some local activities and see their majesty up close. In the evening there will be a group meeting where you can meet your team leader and fellow travellers.

1 night’s accommodation at Explorers Village Lodge, or similar, with breakfast included.

Please note: Your accommodation is on the Zimbabwe side of the falls so please ensure that you have the correct visa. No activities around visiting the Falls are included but please enquire if you need some advice on the best ways to visit them.

Chobe National Park
2 - 3Days

Chobe National Park

It’s time to put another stamp in your passport as today you make the border crossing from Zimbabwe to Botswana. Travelling in a private vehicle you will be taken to Kasane just outside the gates of the Chobe National Park where you will stay for one night in a local lodge. Chobe National Park is known as one of Botswana’s finest wildlife destinations and is home to various iconic species including chances of seeing the Big 5 and Southern Africa’s largest elephant population.

Today you can partake in various additional activities including a fantastic Chobe River sunset cruise, thrilling guided safari drives through the park in an open-seated safari vehicle, and photography drives.

On day 2 your accommodation will be at the Thebe River Safaris Lodge, or similar, with breakfast included.

On day 3 you could partake in more optional activities before your private vehicle and driver takes you to Nata on the southern end of Chobe NP. Optional activities available to book this afternoon include a Nata area bushwalk where you can learn all about the area and search for sightings of the unique birdlife that abounds here, and a Nata area safari drive. Alternatively, you could choose to simply relax at the camp and look out for the elephants that come to drink at the camp’s waterhole.

Day 3 accommodation: 1 night at Elephant Sands, or similar, with breakfast and dinner included.

Okavango Delta
4 - 5Days

Okavango Delta

On day 4 your journey through the iconic Okavango Delta begins as you travel to Maun, the largest town in the Delta area. This will offer you the chance to relax before tomorrow’s bush camping experience and allow you to pick up any supplies you may need. In the evening you can enjoy a Dikgantshwane traditional dance group performance around the pool at your hotel.

Optional activities available for a fee today include a memorable Okavango Delta flight which will see you fly over the Delta’s meandering water channels which are filled with hippos, elephants and buffalo, creating a once in a lifetime experience.

Accommodation on day 4 is at the Sedia Riverside Hotel, or similar, with breakfast included.

On day 5 you will venture further as you take a 1-2 hour safari vehicle drive before boarding a traditional Mokoro canoe to be taken deep into the Delta. Along the way the local polers will introduce you to the way of life in this unique part of the world, and there will be ample opportunity for sightings of birdlife and wildlife by the water. Upon reaching your bush camp you can set up your tent and spend some time relaxing by the camp, or enjoy some birdwatching and wildlife walks through the Delta’s pristine wilderness. In the evening you can enjoy a sundowner as you sit out under the stars and revel in a sing-song with the locals.

Day 5’s accommodation is at Okavango Delta Camping, a basic bush camping experience. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as camping equipment, a mattress and bedding are all included.

Kalahari Desert
6Day

Kalahari Desert

This morning you will travel back to Maun by mokoro canoe before getting back into your private vehicle for the drive along the northern portions of the Kalahari Desert, marvelling at the arid and barren, yet strikingly beautiful landscape along the way. You will arrive at the operator-supported Dqae Qare San Lodge in the afternoon. The Dqae Qare San Lodge is the only land owned freehold by an Indigenous community in all of Southern Africa and is home to the San tribe. The San are known throughout the continent for their warm hospitality, and tonight you have the opportunity to be immersed in their history and culture with a dance and storytelling around the campfire. The Lodge provides much-needed employment for the nearby village of D'kar and your stay here will be directly contributing to local community upliftment projects.

During your stay here you can also enjoy a walk with the San tribe to learn about how they have adapted to life in this harsh desert, and learn all about the wilderness survival skills needed and the botany of the area.

Optional activities include a traditional san/bushmen dancing experience around the campfire.

One night’s stay at Dqae Qare San Lodge with breakfast and dinner included.
