Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Ushuaia - Embark
1Day

Ushuaia - Embark

Your Antarctica trip begins in Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city, where having arrived independently you will make your way to the port to board your expedition vessel in the afternoon. As you settle in to your comfortable home for the next 8 nights, we will set sail through the incredibly scenic Beagle Channel and begin our journey towards Antarctica.

You may wish to arrive in Ushuaia a couple of days before departure to allow you time to explore this quaint city and the hiker’s paradise of nearby Tierra del Fuego. Please enquire should you require any advice or help in organising this.

At Sea - Drake Passage
2 - 3Days

At Sea - Drake Passage

The next 2 days will be spent at sea sailing across the legendary Drake Passage. The Drake Passage is notoriously changeable, but your exceptional purpose-built vessel is more than equipped to deal with any crossing with ease. Whilst on board you can make the most of the ship’s fantastic facilities, attend some of the informative lectures and presentations on offer, spend time on deck looking out for seabirds and whales following the ship, or simply relax and prepare for your time in Antarctica.

As we get closer to the South Shetland Islands and the first of many icebergs start to appear on the horizon, we may spot our first seals or penguins and the excitement will build as we get ready for our first landings.

South Shetland Islands & Antarctic Peninsula
4 - 6Days

South Shetland Islands & Antarctic Peninsula

Over the next few days we will immerse ourselves in the wonders of Antarctica, soaking up every moment in this incredibly enchanting region. With a relatively flexible itinerary, your experienced captain and crew will be continuously assessing weather and sea conditions, and taking advantage of every opportunity for adventure.

Your first stop is likely to take you to the mysterious South Shetland Islands, a rugged chain of rocks that marks the northernmost point of Antarctica. Being the area of the continent that is most exposed to the fury of the Southern Ocean, the South Shetlands are consequently one of the richest areas for wildlife and is home to large Gentoo and Chinstrap Penguin colonies, and an abundance of large seabirds such as predatory Giant Petrels. Landing sites here may include volcanic Deception Island, Aitcho Island, Half Moon Island and Yankee Harbour.

We then make our way to the Gerlache Strait region of the Antarctic Peninsula where some skilful sailing by the captain will bring us to some wonderfully impressive landing sites. Travelling in spring, experience Antarctica’s raw beauty in a season of awakening and transformation. Watch as penguins return to the shores, staking their claims for nesting sites and engaging in lively courtship rituals. Witness the vast expanse of winter sea ice stretching to the horizon, and feel the power of an ice-class vessel as it navigates through this frozen seascape. Unlike the endless daylight of summer, this time of year offers stunning sunsets, casting a surreal glow over the pristine landscape.

With fresh snowfall blanketing the terrain, spring provides prime conditions for snowshoeing and even camping on the continent, offering an immersive way to connect with this remote wilderness. Wherever our journey takes us along the Antarctic Peninsula, expect encounters with remarkable wildlife, captivating history, and awe-inspiring scenery.

Antarctica’s ever-changing conditions shape your journey, with daily updates provided by your Expedition Leader during evening briefings. While we strive to maximise off-ship exploration, safety is priority, and flexibility is key. In challenging weather, guests can enjoy expert-led lectures, unwind in the spa, indulge in a wine tasting, or relax in the hot tubs while taking in the breathtaking Antarctic scenery.

At Sea - Drake Passage
7 - 8Days

At Sea - Drake Passage

As our extraordinary Antarctic adventure draws to a close, we begin our journey back across the Drake Passage to Ushuaia. This is a perfect time to relax and reflect on the experience, whether by enjoying a drink with fellow travellers, revisiting the photos you’ve taken, or taking part in special activities to celebrate your voyage. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy final lectures and presentations, helping you process the incredible sights and memories of the trip.

On the final evening, join the Captain and Officers for a Farewell Cocktail Party, followed by a special photo and video presentation curated by the onboard photographer. This is a wonderful way to relive the highlights of your Antarctic journey and share the memories of this unforgettable expedition.

Ushuaia - Disembark
9Day

Ushuaia - Disembark

Having sailed through the Beagle Channel overnight, we will arrive back in Ushuaia in the morning and disembark after breakfast. There are multiple options available for extending your stay in South America, including discovering more of Argentina and trips into Brazil. Please enquire for further details should this be of interest.

Now that I am back from my odyssey voyage, I thought I would let you know that after all that planning it really did exceed my expectations – we managed landings everywhere even on Tristan da Cuhna and had great bird sightings. The guides all knew what they were talking about too and made sure I got some great photos – still sorting them all out! Thanks for everything and see you at Birdfair!

Dave Martin

Overall I think that it was an excellent trip that was well worth the price paid and I would have no hesitation recommending your company to others.

Steve Sutton

Just a quick note to express my sincere thanks to you and all your staff for making this an epic adventure of immense proportions. Everything went smoothly, pickups, hotels and most of all the expedition itself. Truly a mind blowing experience unlike any I have ever taken.
