About Mexico
Separated from the coast by the Sea of Cortez (the Gulf of California), the Mexican state of Baja California Sur is a strip of desert running parallel to the shore of the mainland.
This peninsula sits amid lagoons where whales breed in peace, and uninhabited islands throng with seabirds (no fewer than 26 species breed here) that will raise the adrenaline level of even the most avid birder.
Gleaming white-sand beaches dazzle in spectacular contrast to the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez as it laps against the desert shore. You can expect sensational sunsets in the evenings after a day of exploring the flora- and fauna-rich wilderness.
A Mexico cruise along this stretch of water is an opportunity to discover one of Earth's most biologically diverse environments. Super pods of over 1,000 dolphins mix with schools of jumping mobula rays. Sea lions have colonised the shore whilst the sea supports nearly 900 species of fish. With such an abundance of food, the Sea of Cortez attracts large marine animals to breed in its waters, including blue, humpback, grey, sperm, pilot, Baird’s beaked, and Bryde’s whales.

Equipment and Gear
All the necessary equipment for the expedition will be provided, such as kayaks, paddle boards and wetsuits. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, long sleeve sun shirts, hats, mosquito repellent, and of course, a camera to record your adventures!
Best Time to Travel
An all year round destination, although the most temperate weather occurs between December and May. For those who want to see the famous grey whale migration, we recommend a Mexico cruise to the Sea of Cortez between January and March.
