Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Oslo to Longyearbyen
1Day

Oslo to Longyearbyen

Your included flight from Oslo will bring you to Longyearbyen today, the administrative capital of the Svalbard archipelago, where you will board your vessel and begin your Arctic adventure. After a welcome drink and time to familiarise yourself with the ship, there will be voyage and safety briefings before your captain steers the ship out of Advent Fjord and into the wilderness.

Please note: Your flight from Oslo to Longyearbyen is included in the price of your expedition, as part of a mandatory transfer package.

Kongsfjorden Area
2Day

Kongsfjorden Area

As with all Arctic expeditions, our exact route in Svalbard will be dictated by weather and ice conditions, with your experienced captain and crew charting the perfect course each day for unforgettable sights and adventures. This itinerary describes the expected route but may be subject to change.

Overnight, we will have sailed north, passing the rugged coastline of Prins Karls Forland enroute to beautiful Kongsfjorden. Surrounded by sweeping glaciers and backed by the striking peaks known as the Three Crowns, this is one of Svalbard’s most spectacular fjord landscapes.

Today’s exploration may include a visit to Ny-Ålesund, one of the northernmost settlements in the world. Once a base for pioneering Arctic expeditions, it is closely linked with the names of famous explorers including Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen. Today, this isolated outpost is dedicated to international scientific research, with stations from several nations studying the Arctic environment.

Set against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains, striking glaciers and still polar waters, Ny-Ålesund offers a fascinating introduction to the region’s rich history of exploration and discovery.

Expedition Northwest Spitsbergen
3Day

Expedition Northwest Spitsbergen

Today, explore the wild and protected landscapes of northwest Spitsbergen, a region of dramatic fjords, glacier-lined coastlines and remote islands shaped by centuries of Arctic history. First reached by Willem Barentsz in 1596, this area later became an important centre for early whaling, and traces of that past can still be found along these isolated shores.

Now preserved as a national park, the region has been reclaimed by nature and stands as one of Svalbard’s great wildlife havens. In summer, Arctic flowers brighten the tundra, seabirds crowd the cliffs, and the surrounding waters and shoreline are home to walrus, seals and, at times, polar bears.

Expedition South Svalbard
4Day

Expedition South Svalbard

On your final day in Svalbard, sail into the broad fjords of Bellsund and Hornsund, where milder Atlantic currents bring a softer character to the landscape. Here, greener valleys and glacier-fed waters create one of the archipelago’s richest natural environments, with excellent chances to spot reindeer, Arctic foxes and huge numbers of nesting seabirds.

This southern region is also steeped in history, with abandoned outposts and reminders of earlier Arctic lives scattered along the coast. From the dramatic bird cliffs of Alkhornet to historic sites such as Calypsobyen and Bamsebu, it is a captivating finale to your time in Svalbard.

At Sea & Jan Mayen
5 - 7Days

At Sea & Jan Mayen

Days 5 & 6 will be spent at sea sailing towards Jan Mayen. Whilst at sea you can enjoy the informative and entertaining lecture and discussion programme delivered by your team of onboard experts, spend time on deck looking for seabirds and whales following the ship, or simply relax in the comfort of your ship in preparation for the adventures ahead.

On day 7 we will arrive at the enigmatic and rarely-visited volcanic island of Jan Mayen which is home to the imposing Beerenberg mountain and is inhabited by only 18 people, all of whom work in the meteorological station and the Norwegian Defence. Often shrouded in mist, the island is a spectacular sight. We will hope to go ashore to explore around and learn more about its volcanic geology, passing by lava flows and cinder cones as the looming mountain provides an unforgettable backdrop.

After a day of exploration we will get back onboard to continue towards Greenland.

At Sea to Scoresbysund
8Day

At Sea to Scoresbysund

Today, continue your voyage across the Greenland Sea as we sail towards the wild coast of East Greenland and the vast fjord system of Scoresbysund. This remote stretch offers a true sense of Arctic scale, with shifting light, open water and the growing possibility of ice on the horizon.

The sea ice along East Greenland is among the most enduring in the Arctic, and even in midsummer the coastline can remain locked in ice. These frozen waters provide an important habitat for species such as polar bears and belugas, and with luck, you may catch sight of this immense icy wilderness as you approach one of the most spectacular regions in Greenland.

Ittoqqortoormiit
9Day

Ittoqqortoormiit

Today, visit Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the most remote settlements in the world and the only community in this vast region of East Greenland. Founded in 1925, the town remains deeply connected to the surrounding Arctic environment, where traditional hunting still plays an important role in daily life and isolation is simply part of existence.

Despite its remoteness, Ittoqqortoormiit has a strong sense of identity and community, offering a fascinating introduction to Greenlandic culture. You may have the chance to visit the local museum and church, and perhaps meet residents in traditional dress, adding a warm and personal dimension to this remarkable place.

Expedition Scoresbysund
10Day

Expedition Scoresbysund

On the morning of day 7 we will awake along the pack ice of North East Greenland and begin our exploration of Scoresby Sund, the world’s longest fjord. Our 2 days here will allow us ample time to soak up the unique and unspoiled nature of Greenland, enjoying as many landings and Zodiac cruises as possible, surrounded by the most unforgettable scenery. Possible landing sites here include Cape Brewster and Bear Island, as well as a visit to the picturesque settlement of Ittiqqortoormiit, one of Greenland’s most remote towns.

Blosseville Coast - Towards Iceland
11 - 12Days

Blosseville Coast - Towards Iceland

We will now spend a day sailing along the incredibly beautiful Blosseville Coast, soaking up possibly the most dramatic coastline outside of Antarctica. As we sail surrounded by majestic mountains and steep fjords and cliffs, we will be on a constant lookout for wildlife, abandoned Inuit settlements and incredible scenic photo opportunities. If conditions permit, there may be an opportunity to go ashore and experience this uninhabited landscape up close

By day 12 we will have bade farewell to Greenland and will be sailing towards the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik.

Reykjavik, Iceland
13Day

Reykjavik, Iceland

Arrival into the vibrant and culture-rich Icelandic capital of Reykjavik will sadly signal the end of our Arctic voyage. After breakfast it will be time to disembark and bid a fond farewell to your crew and new-found friends. There are multiple options available in Reykjavik for extra adventures and we recommend booking a few extra days here to experience some of Iceland’s most famous sights. We will be happy to help you to arrange any post-voyage excursions or stays so please let us know if we can be of any assistance.
