Update on our Uganda Tours
- October 2023
We are deeply saddened by the recent, tragic attack in Uganda. Our hearts are with the victims and their loved ones during this difficult time. Out of respect and caution, Wildfoot Travel has taken the decision to pause all tours to Uganda for now.
Safety is, and will always be, our number one priority, and we hope to return responsibly when the situation allows.
The Wildfoot Travel Team
Teeming with an array of wonderful wildlife, this region offers the perfect destination for a wildlife holiday. There are many itineraries to discover and they all provide the opportunity for you to see the incredible animal, bird and sealife the region has to offer.
You can walk along the beaches to see Elephant Seals and Fur Seals go about their day, in and out of the sea, watched over by the resident nesting penguins. And, while all around you rare endemic birds, such as breeding Albatrosses and Giant Petrels peck in the long grasses of the shoreline, you can cast your eyes over the distant horizon and spot Orca and Dolphins.
These incredible islands have plenty to offer in terms of wildlife spotting, but there are more things to see, do and explore during your visit. A Falkland Islands holiday has many other highlights and plenty of interesting attractions to discover. Why not indulge in the place’s rich history? Visit one of the battlefield sites, all of which make a thought-provoking visit, or, if you’re interested in Antarctic exploration, you can choose to take a trip to view Ernest Shackleton’s famous route map of the Imperial trans-Atlantic expedition of 1914-1917. This is considered to be the final expedition in what was called the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
These islands are a bird watcher’s paradise and a favourite among photography enthusiasts as well. From the stunning scenery that unfolds around every corner, to the towering icebergs and idyllic beaches, the breath-taking vistas will stay with you long after you have left. The incredibly warm and welcoming hospitality that you will be shown by the local people everywhere you go completes a unique wildlife experience on a Falkland Islands holiday.

Helping you build your perfect holiday
For the most comprehensive land based Falkland Islands holiday, book onto one of our 7 or 14-night itineraries. With local flights between places included to ensure you get to see as much of this amazing part of the world as possible, you'll stop off at Stanley with its quirky 60s-style British culture.
Part of the thrill of a Falkland Islands holiday is the transport itself. The road network is undeveloped so you'll experience flights aboard a small light aircraft to get from island to island. On land we'll be exploring off-road routes in specialist vehicles.
If you choose a land based Falkland Islands holiday without an Antarctic voyage, you'll be offered 3 ways to get there and back. We can arrange a scheduled flight from Chile or a Royal Airforce flight from Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
Our experts are on hand to answer your questions about this adventure, but we have put together a summary of answers to some of the most common queries that we get.
