Update on our Uganda Tours
- October 2023
We are deeply saddened by the recent, tragic attack in Uganda. Our hearts are with the victims and their loved ones during this difficult time. Out of respect and caution, Wildfoot Travel has taken the decision to pause all tours to Uganda for now.
Safety is, and will always be, our number one priority, and we hope to return responsibly when the situation allows.
The Wildfoot Travel Team
Here at Wildfoot we’re proud of our reputation for providing inspirational wildlife adventure holidays to some of the planet’s most spectacular regions. Our India safaris introduce you to a truly magnificent destination that encompasses a vast and varied sub-continent, stretching from the Himalayas and Bhutan to southern beaches of Goa and Kerala.
While it may be better known for opulent temples and palaces, and the rich, diverse culture of its vibrant, teeming cities, the country’s wildlife is equally impressive. Although it’s often underestimated, in fact it’s more diverse than practically anywhere else on the planet, encompassing much more than just the iconic tiger.
Visiting one of the country's many national safari parks is an opportunity to experience the country’s wildlife up close and personal. A guided safari will give you the best chance of seeing all kinds of remarkable animals, including everything from snow leopards and elephants, to Asiatic lions, rhinoceros and countless species of birdlife.
When you’re ready for the exotic, chaotic and entrancing adventure that is an India safari, Wildfoot can help you organise the most immersive itinerary to ensure you don’t have to compromise on anything on your once in a lifetime trip. Have a look through our brochure and then give one of our friendly experts a call and deal with someone who’s been there themselves. It makes all the difference.

The scorching deserts are home to species such as the Stolicza's bush chat, whilst the wind-swept chilly deserts in northern Kashmir provide a seemingly inhospitable refuge for the Tibetan lark and several types of accentors.
Two-thirds of the endemic bird population dwell in one of the three types of forest: from coastal mangrove where several types of pittas shelter; to dense evergreen for frogmouths, laughing thrushes and the fairy bluebird; to tropical deciduous forests where the exotic paradise flycatcher and racket-tailed drongo can be spotted.
The Himalayan mountain range hosts the colourful tragopans, and open and cultivated lands are where you'll find the red-headed Merlin, booted eagles and Montagu's harrier. Areas of scrubland offer a habitat that attracts the crow-pheasant and Indian robin, whilst the lush wetlands are where you'll spot carganey, shoveler, wigeon and migratory waders such as shanks and sandpipers. There are cranes, stork, herons and egrets.
Getting up close to the wildlife in the National Parks affords sightings of the iconic big cats, the Asiatic lion, leopard and tiger, as well as Sun bears, red pandas and Asian elephants.
The habitats here are as varied as the vast subcontinent itself with swampy jungle, mangrove, riverine islands, lush forests and vast savannahs. The National Parks are home to three iconic big cats: Asiatic lions, leopards and tigers. These parks are scattered with watering holes which provide great locations to view a variety of animals - expect to see chital, sambar, antelope, Indian bison, Sun bears, red pandas and Asian elephants as they congregate to drink. Not to mention, rhinos, striped hyenas and sloths.
We can organise a range of different types of safari to suit your agenda: from jeeps to herdsman-guided hikes or even overnight nature treks.
