Windhoek
1Day

Windhoek

Having arrived independently to Windhoek, the charming capital of Namibia, you will be met at the airport and transferred to Galton House for your first overnight stay. Enjoy some free time to explore this interesting city, characterised by its German colonial architecture, before joining your guide for dinner this evening at a local restaurant to learn more about the adventures ahead and to discuss the photographic goals of your tour.

Included: One night’s accommodation at Galton House on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Dinner tonight is also included.

Sesriem & Sossusvlei
2 - 3Days

Sesriem & Sossusvlei

After breakfast this morning, your adventure will truly begin as your private driver/guide meets you at the hotel to take a 300km drive to the outstanding area of Sesriem where you will check in to the wonderful Dead Valley Lodge. This unique lodge is ideally located for exploring the ancient dunes or walking in the Namib Naukluft Mountains.

On the morning of day 3, it will be time to explore Sossusvlei in the company of your expert guide. A mecca for photographers and artists, Sossusvlei is home to monumental star-shaped dunes that are a delight to capture through the lens. Your dedicated guide will help you seek out the best spots for photographic opportunities and will take into conditions such as the lighting to ensure you visit the best spots at the best time. You may also wish to visit neighbouring Deadvlei to photograph its iconic gnarled and ghostly camel thorn trees which died around 900 years ago when the sand sea blocked waters from the river flooding the pan, before visiting the iconic Sesriem Canyon for more memorable photo opportunities.

Included: 2 nights’ accommodation in a Luxury Tented Chalet at Dead Valley Lodge on a Full Board basis.

Swakopmund
4 - 5Days

Swakopmund

After breakfast this morning, you and your guide will set off on the 344km drive towards Swakopmund, through mountain passes via Solitaire and on to Walvis bay where you may wish to stop for scenic photography opportunities and the chance to photograph the many birds that are seen here including the greater flamingo. You will then make your way to the charming and welcoming Cornerstone Guesthouse for a 2 night stay.

The following day you will join your fantastic, included Classic Marine Dolphin Cruise. This unforgettable experience will see you cruise aboard a catamaran from Swakopmund to the beach at Pelican Point sand Peninsula and on to the ancient, magnificent dunes of Sandwich harbour. This is the only place in the world where desert sand dunes meet the ocean, making for incredible photography opportunities. During the tour you can enjoy a light lunch of fresh Walvis Bay oysters and sparkling wine. Soft drinks, Namibian beer and bottled water is also included. Common wildlife sightings on this tour include dolphins, seals, whales, mola molas, flamingos, pelicans, various petrels, black oystercatchers and much more.

Damaraland
6 - 7Days

Damaraland

This morning you will set off through ever-changing landscapes towards the mountainous scenery of Damaraland where Camp Kipwe will be your home for the next 2 nights. On the way, your guide will stop at Twyfelfontein, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007, where you can enjoy an included guided visit to experience the famous Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings.

Camp Kipwe is ideally situated and rests in the midst of an outcrop of colossal granite boulders, merely a stone's throw from the transient Aba Huab riverbed, a common path for the passage of desert-adapted elephants. On day 7, you will go in search of these enigmatic animals as you enjoy your included Desert Adapted Elephant Drive. Led by an expert guide, you will set off early in the morning to discover this ancient and arid landscape that is alive with desert-adapted flora and fauna. This fantastic excursion will offer unparalleled opportunities for photographing these huge mammals amongst the striking backdrop of this harsh, dry environment. Your guide will seek out the best light for photography opportunities and can spend as much time as you desire in each location in order to get the perfect shots.

Etosha National Park
8 - 9Days

Etosha National Park

You now head for one of Namibia’s most impressive wildlife areas as you set off for a wonderfully scenic drive of around 330km towards the outstanding Etosha National Park. On this special itinerary you will have the privileged opportunity to stay within the park itself, allowing you the chance to experience the photographer’s bliss of ‘golden hour’ within the park. As the gates to the park are only open between sunrise and sunset, were you to stay outside the park, you may miss out on the wonderful settings and lighting afforded by out-of-hours activities. Staying at the comfortable Okaukuejo Camp allows you to experience the southern section of the park in all its glory, with the camp also boasting its own magnificent floodlit watering hole which is open all night!

Over the next two days, accompanied by your guide, you can explore some of what this wonderful area has to offer. Known as Namibia’s foremost wildlife sanctuary, photographing wildlife here is a thrilling and rewarding experience for photographers of all levels. Known for its vast salt pan, diverse ecosystems, and abundant wildlife, the park offers unique opportunities to capture stunning images of animals in their natural habitat. From the majestic elephants and elusive leopards to the vibrant bird species and roaming herds of zebras, Etosha's varied landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for wildlife photography. The best times to photograph are during the early morning and late afternoon when the lighting is soft and animals are most active. On this private guided tour, your expert guide will help you seek out the best areas for sightings, and the best lighting for photography, and will stay at any spot for as long as you desire to get the perfect images.

Eastern Etosha
10Day

Eastern Etosha

Your final day in Etosha will see you take a leisurely drive through the park towards the Eastern gate before sunset, stopping for lunch along the way and visiting waterholes such as Goas which are particularly good for game viewing. On exiting the park, it is a short drive to Mushara Bush Camp where you will enjoy an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. There are lots of game and birds to be seen on the drive through the park and the Mushara Camp is an ideal spot to stay, with a delightful nighttime campfire.

Okonjima
11 - 12Days

Okonjima

Your final Namibia photographic adventure will take you to the wonderful Okonjima Nature Reserve, home to the world famous Africat Foundation. Famed for frequent leopard, brown hyaena and pangolin sightings, the reserve is recognised as one of the premier places to stay to witness carnivores and other endangered species in the wild, and to be educated about conservation. During your time here you can partake in an unforgettable Leopard Tracking Safari, giving you excellent chances of photographing these elusive and enigmatic creatures up-close. You can also enjoy an included visit to the Africat centre to learn all about the incredibly important work they carry out here to rehabilitate cheetahs, wild dogs, leopards and hyenas, and the many innovative research and conservation projects they are involved in.

Galton House, Windhoek

This beautifully stylish newly-opened boutique hotel is perched on the edge of Windhoek's northernmost affluent suburb of Eros and offers peace and tranquillity just 10 minutes drive from the city centre.

Named after the famous explorer Sir Francis Galton, Galton House has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and has been designed with a combination of modern minimalistic design and understated chic to provide a luxurious setting for guests wishing to relax before or after their African safari adventure.

The hotel has 8 beautiful and spacious bedrooms each of which has a luxury en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, satellite TV and large comfortable beds.
There are 4 double rooms, 1 triple room and 1 family room.

Okonjima Plains Camp

Situated in the beautiful Okonjima Nature Reserve this fabulous camp is home to the AfriCat Foundation and offers an authentic safari experience where you will have the chance to see Namibia's big cats and other carnivores as well as learn about their conservation.

The AfriCat Foundation rehabilitates cheetahs, wild dogs, hyaenas and leopards, and there are fantastic opportunities to see these beautiful carnivores in their natural environment.

The Okonjima Plains Camp has been recently redesigned to honour the Okonjima cattle-farming history and "The Barn", otherwise known as the main camp area, includes a beautiful dining and lounge area and a well-stocked curio shop. There is also a swimming pool and a plethora of outdoor seating space in which guests can soak up the views and the tranquil atmosphere.

Fantastic accommodation is provided in 14 'standard rooms' and 10 'view rooms' each of which have en-suite facilities, beautiful furnishings, large, comfortable beds and ceiling fans. Standard Rooms have a small verandah whilst the View Rooms have a larger verandah and benefit from fantastic views across the Okonjima grass plains.

Activities at Okonjima Plains Camp are varied and as expected they are mostly centred around the big cats. AfriCat is a non-profit organisation set up to conserve and protect threatened cheetah, leopard, and other wild carnivores of Namibia. Visitors will be able to observe some of this programme at work and learn more about these amazing and beautiful animals. Activities available include leopard viewing, visits to the "cheetah project", large carnivore tracking on foot, game drives and bird watching.

Mushara Bush Camp

Located just 10km from the Von Lindequist gate of the world famous Etosha National Park, Mushara Bush Camp is a stylish and down-to-earth camp which is perfect for families and independent travellers looking for comfortable accommodation while they explore this unique area.

Accommodation is provided in 16 large, comfortable tents built from wood, canvas and local limestone. The tents are spacious and airy and have en-suite bathrooms, small lounge areas, mosquito nets, comfortable beds and small private verandas with views out in to the bush. Each tent has been decorated and furnished in a simple yet beautiful manner and offers a high level of comfort, privacy and tranquillity.

Mushara Bush Camp provides exceptional facilities and experiences for guests of all ages and the main Bush Camp House is thatched and has a true bush camp feel to it. For younger guests there is a specially designed play area with books, toys and games, and a jungle gym and children's swimming pool. There is also a full size swimming pool, a bar, a curio shop, welcoming lounge area and a dining room - although many guests choose to enjoy their meals on the beautiful veranda where they can watch the resident warthogs grazing and soak up the wonderful surroundings. There is also a campfire around which guests congregate in the evening and regale stories of the adventures they have had that day.

This very family-friendly camp offers a wide range of activities including morning and afternoon game drives into Etosha National Park where the wildlife is exceptional and you can expect to witness most of Africa's big game. Guided bushwalks and day tours are also available.

Okaukuejo Rest Camp

Okaukuejo Camp is the largest and oldest tourist camp in Etosha and its long standing history of providing good quality accommodation plus its well-established waterhole, which attracts a variety of game in large numbers, make it also one of the most popular in the area.

The famous floodlit waterhole where a hub of diverse animal activity takes place throughout the day and night makes the camp a perfect place for a stopover as you visit the world renowned Etosha National Park, and provides fantastic opportunities for witnessing an abundance of rare and intriguing species.

The camp has a total of 102 chalets, offering 5 different styles and levels of luxury. The most luxurious of the accommodation options are the 5 Premier Waterhole Chalets which as the name suggests offer the best views of the waterhole. These beautiful chalets are set over 2 floors and have private balconies, 2 bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and lounge areas.

There are also 30 standard Waterhole Chalets, 2 self-catering family chalets, 25 bush chalets and 40 double rooms. All rooms and chalets feature en-suite bathrooms, simple yet stylish furnishings, and large comfortable beds.

There are also a number of camping areas with electricity supply, braai area and access to hot showers.

The large main area of the camp features everything you will need for a short stay including 3 swimming pools, tourist shop, curio shop, post office, buffet restaurant, bar and tourist information centre.

Many visitors to Okaukuejo Rest Camp tend to come on a self-drive basis and choose to explore the National Park (approximately 30 minutes drive away) in their own time, however, the camp does provide a range of activities for those who do not have their own car including guided day time and night time game drives and day tours to the Park where you can expect to witness exactly what Etosha National Park is famous for - a diverse and wide range of wildlife including all of the big cats, black rhino and a plethora of birdlife.

Dead Valley Lodge, Sossusvlei

This fantastic newly opened lodge is situated inside the Namib Naukluft Park, in-between Sesriem and Elim Dune on the road leading to the world-famous Dead Valley at Sossusvlei. Featuring striking design and luxurious, yet authentic, accommodation, the open-plan lodge offers panoramic views across the towering red sand dunes and rugged mountains of the Namib Desert.
