Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Buenos Aires
1Day

Buenos Aires

Your itinerary begins in unforgettable Buenos Aires, where after having arrived independently, you will transfer to the hotel for your overnight stay. We recommend taking some time to soak up the sights, sounds and delicacies of this splendid city.

Fly to Ushuaia - Embarkation Day
2Day

Fly to Ushuaia - Embarkation Day

After a good night’s rest and breakfast in the hotel, you will join your transfer to the airport for your private charter flight to Ushuaia, where upon arrival you will have some time to explore around the world’s southernmost city before making your way to the port where your polar expedition ship awaits you. Embarkation will begin in the late afternoon and after meeting your expedition team and settling into your comfortable cabin, you can spend some time exploring your new surroundings and watching from deck as we sail through the scenic and historic Beagle Channel, leaving civilisation far behind as we start our journey to the Antarctic wilderness.

Drake Passage
3 - 4Days

Drake Passage

We will spend 2 days at sea sailing through the famously unpredictable Drake Passage. Over the course of these 2 days there may potentially be some rough waters, but your polar expedition ship has been designed to navigate these waters with ease. We hope for a smooth sailing that will allow us to spend some time on deck enjoying searching for the abundant seabirds that are likely to be following the ship. Your expedition team will begin their exciting programme of informative lectures and presentations covering everything from the wildlife and geology of Antarctica to historic polar exploration. There will also be safety and bio-environmental briefings to prepare you for your time in Antarctica.

The Weddell Sea by Land, Sea & Air
5 - 9Days

The Weddell Sea by Land, Sea & Air

After having traversed the Antarctic Convergence your adventure now begins in earnest as you reach the spectacle of the white continent and begin your exploration of Antarctica. After all of the anticipation during your Drake Passage crossing your first sight of land in Antarctica will not disappoint, and you will begin to appreciate exactly why these remarkable lands have long captivated the attentions of explorers and intrepid adventurers.

As with all Antarctica expeditions our exact itinerary over the course of the next 5 days will be flexible and dependent upon weather and ice conditions, with your captain and experienced crew deciding each day on the best course for unrivalled wildlife, scenery and adventure experiences. Each expedition to Antarctica is different and you can be guaranteed of multiple unique, once in a lifetime moments that you will live long in the memory.

Helicopter operations in Antarctica are also acutely weather-dependent. Your itinerary has been designed to enable us to spend time each day in stunning locations that allow us to enjoy helicopter opportunities if the weather allows and, alternately, to maximise your experience of Antarctic wildlife, ice and landscapes when flying conditions are not favourable.

During your time in this icy realm, you can expect to enjoy at least two thrilling helicopter flightseeing excursions, discovering Antarctica beyond the coast and over the expansive glacial terrain of the last great wilderness. Our theatre for adventure will be around the spectacular areas of the Antarctic Sound, Erebus and Terror Gulf, northwestern Weddell Sea.

Sailing into the Sound, we will make our way to Madder Cliffs on Joinville Island, and Brown Bluff on the most northerly tip of the Antarctic Continent. Here we plan to hop into the Zodiac boats to find some large Adélie penguin colonies and search for gentoo penguins and seals. From here we may also have the first opportunity for helicopter flights.

Sailing on into Erebus and Terror Gulf we will position the ship for maximum opportunities for adventures by sea and air. Around the James Ross Island group we will have many opportunities for land visits to explore to explore historic sites and take hikes to some spectacular summits. These islands, prized for their geological importance, host notable features such as fossil discoveries, ventifacts (rocks smoothed over time by wind and sand), and remnants of the KT Boundary, which marks the transition from the Cretaceous Period (when dinosaurs and reptiles dominated) to the Tertiary Period (the era of mammals). Our aim is to offer you a close-up view of these ventifacts, allowing a deeper understanding of the impact of wind erosion - caused by sand or ice particles - over extended periods. These ventifacts hold key insights into the region’s climatic history and prevailing wind patterns.

Potential areas for helicopter flights will include the dramatic headland on the northeastern tip of Joinville island, or we may make our way to the South Shetland Islands to fly over the spectacular mountains of Livingston Island and make a landing on Deception Island to walk amongst the waddling penguins and lounging seals that are found here amidst the rusting remnants of long-ago whaling operations.

When not flying, options for exploration will include hiking on Devil Island and renowned Paulet Island which is home to one of the largest Adélie penguin rookeries in the area.

With a flexible, yet carefully thought out itinerary, wherever we roam you can be guaranteed to experience an adventure of a lifetime.

Drake Passage
10 - 11Days

Drake Passage

After your thrilling exploration of Antarctica, it’s time to head back towards South America as we sail back across the Drake Passage. These 2 days offer us some further opportunities for attending the informative lectures and talks presented by your team of Antarctica experts and we recommend spending some time on deck looking for your final seabird and whale sightings. This is also a great chance to spend some time collating all of the many pictures you will have taken and sharing tales of your adventures with your fellow passengers.

Ushuaia & Fly to Buenos Aires
12Day

Ushuaia & Fly to Buenos Aires

After having sailed through the Beagle Channel overnight you will arrive back into the port of Ushuaia in the early morning, where you will disembark for a tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park. After your Taste of Patagonia experience you will then transfer to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires.

Now that I am back from my odyssey voyage, I thought I would let you know that after all that planning it really did exceed my expectations – we managed landings everywhere even on Tristan da Cuhna and had great bird sightings. The guides all knew what they were talking about too and made sure I got some great photos – still sorting them all out! Thanks for everything and see you at Birdfair!

Dave Martin

Overall I think that it was an excellent trip that was well worth the price paid and I would have no hesitation recommending your company to others.

Steve Sutton

Just a quick note to express my sincere thanks to you and all your staff for making this an epic adventure of immense proportions. Everything went smoothly, pickups, hotels and most of all the expedition itself. Truly a mind blowing experience unlike any I have ever taken.
