Nestled at the foothills of the Shivalik range, this 820-square-kilometer reserve is named after C. Rajagopalachari, a key figure in India’s independence movement. The park features diverse landscapes, including Sal forests, riverine woodlands, and scrublands, providing a rich habitat for wildlife. While once dominated by tigers, the reserve now sees leopards as its primary predator, roaming the forests with unmatched authority. Conservation efforts are underway to restore the tiger population, ensuring a balanced ecosystem.

After checking into the beautiful Aalia Jungle Retreat, this afternoon you will set off on your first thrilling jeep safari through the reserve, where you may encounter Asian elephants, Himalayan black bears, sloth bears, and a variety of deer species, alongside over 300 bird species that make this park a paradise for nature lovers. Today, enjoy two more exhilarating jeep safaris into Rajaji Tiger Reserve. The nearest entry point, Mohund Gate, is just a 30-minute drive from the lodge, while three additional zones near Haridwar are approximately 45 minutes away. If you're keen to explore a different landscape, we recommend taking one of your drives into an alternate zone for a varied wildlife experience.

All meals will be served at the lodge, offering a perfect opportunity to unwind between safaris. During your free time, you may choose to explore the nearby villages and farmlands or indulge in a rejuvenating massage at the lodge’s spa for a truly relaxing retreat.

Transfer to Corbett Tiger Reserve

This morning, set out on your final safari in Rajaji Tiger Reserve, making the most of one last opportunity to spot its incredible wildlife. After returning to the lodge, enjoy a hearty breakfast, freshen up, and relax before an early lunch. Alternatively, you may opt for a packed lunch to take along as you embark on a scenic 5.5-hour drive to Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Upon arrival at the brilliant Jim’s Jungle Retreat, settle into the lodge and unwind for an evening at your leisure. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a guided walk along the ‘Mahavan Trail’ with a lodge naturalist, discovering the diverse landscapes and unique flora of the region.

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve

After a hearty breakfast, check out and set off on your journey to Jaagir Manor, travelling from the foothills of Corbett to the lush Terai region of India. Over the next few days, you will explore three incredible wildlife reserves - Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary, and Dudhwa Wildlife Sanctuary. If you're feeling adventurous, the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary is also an option, though it lies about 2.5 hours from your lodge.

Today promises to be a long yet rewarding travel day. Your journey begins with a 4.5-hour drive to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, where you will arrive in time for lunch at a local hotel near the park. Here, you will meet your Jaagir Lodge naturalist before heading out on an exciting jeep safari through Pilibhit’s thriving wilderness, known for its strong tiger presence in recent years. After the safari, continue your journey with a 2.5-hour drive to Jaagir Manor, arriving in time for a delicious dinner and a well-earned rest.

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve

Over the next three days, you will explore the diverse landscapes of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, which comprises three distinct wildlife sanctuaries - Kishanpur, Dudhwa, and Katarniaghat. The first two days will be dedicated to morning and afternoon jeep safaris through Dudhwa and Kishanpur, focusing on iconic species such as the Bengal tiger, Asiatic elephant, Indian one-horned rhinoceros, and the elusive fishing cat.

Dudhwa’s rhino population, successfully reintroduced years ago, resides in a vast 32 sq. km fenced area. While plans are underway to release a small group into the wild, special permits allow access to this zone for now, and we have included one exclusive drive to observe these magnificent creatures.

On the third day, embark on a full-day excursion to Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, approximately 2.5 hours from the lodge. After an early breakfast, depart for Katarniaghat, arriving by 9:30 AM. Begin your adventure with a boat safari on the Girwa River, which forms a natural border between India and Nepal. This waterway is home to the rare gharial crocodile, smooth-coated otters, Indian skimmers, and ospreys. Following a riverside lunch at the Forest Rest House, set out on an afternoon jeep safari in search of leopards and tigers before returning to the lodge in the evening.

On day 11 there will be some well-deserved time to relax at the lodge and enjoy its many amenities.

Lucknow
12 - 13Days

Lucknow

The wildlife portion of your adventure concludes today as you enjoy a final breakfast before departing for Lucknow. The 4.5-hour drive brings you to the city just in time for lunch and check-in at the luxurious Taj Mahal Hotel, where you will unwind for the next two nights.

Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is a city rich in history, culture, and architectural splendor. Once a flourishing center of the Mughal Empire and later the Nawabs of Awadh, it is home to stunning landmarks such as Bara Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, and the British Residency. Beyond its heritage, Lucknow is famous for its intricate Chikankari embroidery, vibrant markets, and delectable Awadhi cuisine, renowned for its kebabs, biryanis, and sweets. Over the next day and a half, you will explore the city's highlights with an English-speaking guide, who will meet you at your hotel to begin this immersive cultural experience.

Back to Delhi

As your itinerary comes to its conclusion, you can enjoy a morning at leisure in Lucknow before checking out and transferring to the airport for your included afternoon flight back to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, your tour team will transfer you to one of the Aerocity hotels where you can relax for a while before transferring to the international terminal for onward or homeward flights.
