Today it’s time to immerse yourself in the beauty of Southeast Baffin Island as you set foot on the nuna, the Inuktitut word for land. Panniqtuuq (Pangnirtung)

Today we visit the scenic community of Panniqtuuq, beautifully set between towering mountains and a winding river valley along the coast. Its name, meaning “the place of the bull caribou” in Inuktitut, reflects its deep connection to the surrounding land and wildlife.

Enjoy a guided community tour and take in the dramatic Arctic scenery. At the Angmarlik Visitor Centre, explore exhibits highlighting both traditional Thule culture and contemporary Inuit life, gaining meaningful insights into the community’s rich heritage and way of life.

Now, discover the wild beauty of the Cumberland Peninsula during two days of immersive exploration. This dramatic stretch of Arctic landscape, jutting from southeastern Baffin Island, is rich in cultural history and ecological significance. As we sail through Cumberland Sound, a marine haven that supported Inuit life for millennia, we’ll seek out the same wildlife that has thrived here for generations.

We now spend a day at sea sailing towards Greenland. Throughout your voyage you will have the unique opportunity to learn from the Inuit in their homeland, gaining insight into their daily lives. Enjoy cultural performances, try Inuit games, and sample traditional country food. We also recommend spending some time on deck, binoculars in hand, waiting for sightings of the minke and humpback whales and bountiful seabirds that are regularly spotted along this route.

The name Ilulissat translates to "iceberg," which perfectly reflects this awe-inspiring location at the mouth of the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Icefjord is the source of many of the icebergs that drift into the North Atlantic.

Take in the majestic ice formations as you walk along the scenic boardwalk, a truly unforgettable sight. Explore the town's vibrant museums, quaint cafes, unique craft shops, and lively fishing harbour. Sisimiut Coast

Sisimiut Coast

The final adventure of our Baffin Island & Greenland cruise will see us spend 2 days exploring through some more of West Greenland’s stunning coastal landscapes. We’ll navigate intricate waterways, pass charming communities, glaciers, islands, and dramatic fjords, all set against the backdrop of towering mountains. There will be excellent opportunities for hiking and Zodiac excursions, allowing you to explore the region up close.

You will also have chance to discover the rich history and culture of the Saqqaq, Dorset, Thule, and modern Inuit peoples who have lived in the Sisimiut region for over 4,500 years. With the West Greenland Current keeping the waters relatively warm for its subarctic location, your journey will be both comfortable and awe-inspiring.

Kangerlussuaq - Disembark

Having sailed through the dramatic Kangerlussuaq Fjord, flanked by 190 kilometres of spectacular scenery, you will arrive in the picturesque town of Kangerlussuaq. You will disembark here filled with memories of an unforgettable Arctic adventure.

The Ocean Nova was built in Denmark in 1992 and refurbished in 2006. It has a fully classified ice-strengthened hull, so is ideally suited for polar waters. There is a total of 45 cabins, all with windows and en-suite facilities. These include single, twin and triple berth cabins. Public areas include two dining rooms, observation lounge/presentation lounge, bar, library, exercise room and hospital. There is plenty of deck space for scenery and wildlife viewing. There is an open bridge policy.
