Upon reaching the unique lodge, settle in and enjoy an engaging polar bear presentation by your Expedition Leader, an ideal introduction to the extraordinary days ahead. Positioned in prime polar bear territory, the Tundra Lodge offers unmatched proximity to these incredible animals. Curious bears frequently wander close, giving guests extraordinary up-close views from large windows and elevated outdoor platforms. From playful sparring between young males to mothers guiding their cubs, or solitary adults pacing the shore in anticipation of freeze-up, each encounter reveals the powerful grace and surprising charm of the world’s largest land carnivore.

Guests can enjoy a mix of time on the lodge and excursions aboard specially designed Polar Rovers, maximising opportunities to see not only polar bears but also Arctic foxes, hares, caribou, ptarmigan, and snowy owls. Small-group outings ensure a more personal experience, with days split between half-day Rover adventures and lodge-based viewing. Evenings are spent sharing stories over dinner, enjoying expert presentations, and, if skies are clear, watching for the northern lights dancing across the Arctic night.

Dog Sledding / Fly to Winnipeg

Dog Sledding / Fly to Winnipeg

Before we bid farewell to the high North, there’s still time to soak up a few last adventures. One of the day’s highlights is an unforgettable dog sledding experience. Having made our way back to Churchill, you will meet a seasoned local musher and their enthusiastic team of sled dogs for the chance to ride behind them through the serene boreal forest, offering an exhilarating nod to traditional northern travel.

Depending on timing and interests, you may also wish to browse the local shops for handmade Arctic crafts.

We’ll gather for a farewell lunch to reflect on our time together, sharing stories and memories before boarding your afternoon flight back to Winnipeg. There, a final reception marks the end of your northern adventure, one filled with awe, discovery, and unforgettable encounters with the wild.

Enjoy an overnight stay at the Fort Garry Hotel before checking out after breakfast on day 6 and transferring to the airport for your onward or homeward flight.
