Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Reykjavik/Keflavik - Embark
1Day

Reykjavik/Keflavik - Embark

Your “across the North Atlantic” adventure begins in Iceland’s vibrant capital city where, having arrived independently, you will join your transfer to the port of Keflavik to board your classic expedition ship. Settle into your comfortable cabin and enjoy your first dinner on board as we set sail into the wilderness.

At Sea - Denmark Strait
2Day

At Sea - Denmark Strait

Today will be spent at sea sailing towards Greenland across the Denmark Strait. As you sail, enjoy the commencement of your program of lectures and presentations based around the wildlife, history, geology and historic exploration of the Arctic. Make sure to spend some time on deck trying to spot the soaring fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets, guillemots, and razorbills that often follow the ship in these waters.

Tasiilaq
3Day

Tasiilaq

Today you reach the rugged coast of East Greenland, where we anchor near Tasiilaq, the region’s largest settlement. This colourful village, surrounded by towering peaks and icy fjords, offers a fascinating glimpse into life in one of the world’s most remote corners. Head ashore by Zodiac to explore on foot, visiting Tasiilaq’s distinctive wooden church and its impressive local museum, which offers insight into East Greenland’s rich Inuit heritage.

Weather permitting, set out again by Zodiac to discover the surrounding wilderness from the water, keeping watch for seabirds, seals, or even whales. Along the way, your expert Expedition Team will share their knowledge of the region’s wildlife, geology, and plant life, bringing the Arctic landscape vividly to life. Opportunities for hiking or kayaking may also be available, depending on conditions. Each outing is shaped by nature, ensuring a truly authentic polar experience.

Southern Greenland
4 - 7Days

Southern Greenland

Over the next few days, journey along the wild and remote southern coast of Greenland, a region defined by soaring peaks, sculpted fjords, and a mesmerising sense of solitude. We’ll begin with an approach to the Skjoldungen Fjords, where towering cliffs rise above untouched valleys. With favourable weather, you’ll board Zodiacs to reach shore and explore Qoornoq, an archaeological site offering a glimpse into Greenland’s ancient past. This area was once inhabited, but has now been reclaimed by nature.

Next up, we’ll navigate the dramatic Prince Christian Sound, a breathtaking waterway flanked by sheer mountains and braided with tidewater glaciers and drifting icebergs. If conditions allow, we’ll visit the tiny outpost of Aappilattoq, nicknamed “The Patagonia of the North” for its striking setting at the junction of deep fjords. Farther along the coast lies Hvalsey, home to remarkably preserved Norse ruins. Head ashore by Zodiac to explore this 10th-century Viking site, including one of Greenland’s best-preserved medieval churches. Throughout your time here, daily Zodiac outings offer intimate access to Greenland’s raw, icy wilderness.

Davis Strait
8 - 9Days

Davis Strait

You’ll spend the next two days at sea crossing the historic Davis Strait, a remote expanse of the Arctic Ocean stretching between Greenland’s rugged coast and Canada’s Baffin Island. This broad channel, named after 16th-century English navigator John Davis during his quest for the Northwest Passage, has long been a pathway for intrepid explorers.

As we sail across these icy waters, enjoy insightful presentations from your Expedition Team and spend time on deck or in the observation lounge watching for marine life such as whales and seabirds, or drifting icebergs appearing on the horizon.

Newfoundland and Labrador
10 - 13Days

Newfoundland and Labrador

You now spend four unforgettable days exploring the rugged coastline of Newfoundland and Labrador, rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. Begin in Hebron, a former Inuit settlement and Moravian mission, now a National Historic Site that offers insight into the region’s complex past. Continue to Hopedale, the legislative capital of Nunatsiavut, where the Inuit Assembly meets. This is an important centre for Inuit self-governance and cultural preservation.

Sailing south, you’ll visit L’Anse aux Meadows, the only authenticated Norse site in North America and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where reconstructed sod dwellings bring Viking history to life. Your journey continues to Rocky Harbour, the gateway to Gros Morne National Park, where dramatic landscapes invite hiking, kayaking, and wildlife watching. Zodiac landings and expert-led excursions throughout deepen your connection to this wild and storied coastline.

Rocky Harbour/St. John's
14 - 15Days

Rocky Harbour/St. John's

Spend time at sea as the ship sails from Rocky Harbour to St. John’s, Newfoundland’s vibrant capital and one of the oldest cities in North America. Relax on board and enjoy the passing coastal scenery, informative presentations, and opportunities for wildlife viewing along the way.

We will arrive in St. John’s on day 12 and step ashore to explore its historic streets, brightly painted row houses, and sweeping views of the Atlantic. With its blend of rich maritime history and welcoming small-town charm, this colourful city offers a memorable finale to your Arctic voyage

St. John's - Disembark
16Day

St. John's - Disembark

After breakfast this morning, it will sadly be time to disembark and bid a fond farewell to your expedition crew. If you are leaving St John’s today, a complimentary transfer will be provided to the airport in the morning. Alternatively, you may wish to stay on to explore more of the area. If so, please let us know and we will be happy to help you make arrangements for this.
