Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Tromsø
1 - 2Days

Tromsø

Arrive independently to Tromsø and transfer to your hotel for an included overnight stay, giving you time to get acquainted with this lively Arctic city before your voyage begins. Set well above the Arctic Circle, Tromsø is known for its striking setting between mountains, fjords and sea, as well as its rich polar heritage. You may wish to explore landmarks such as the dramatic Arctic Cathedral, ride the Fjellheisen cable car for sweeping views over the surrounding landscape, or stroll through the historic centre with its characterful wooden buildings.

The next morning, you will transfer to the port to embark your ship and settle in on board. As you leave Tromsø behind and begin sailing north towards Skarsvåg and the North Cape region, the sense of expedition quickly takes hold and the adventure ahead begins to unfold.

Skarsvåg (Nordkapp)
3Day

Skarsvåg (Nordkapp)

Our first stop brings us to Skarsvåg, a tiny settlement on Magerøya and one of the world’s most northerly fishing villages, set in a landscape of open tundra, seabird cliffs and vast Arctic skies. From here, take an included trip to the North Cape, the dramatic headland that marks mainland Europe’s northern edge, where steep cliffs plunge into the Arctic Ocean and the famous globe monument stands as a symbol of this remote frontier. On the drive across the island, keep watch for reindeer grazing across the sparse summer landscape, while the surrounding coastline teems with birdlife including puffins, skuas, razorbills, gannets and white-tailed eagles. There is time to explore North Cape Hall and, weather permitting, step outside to absorb the sweeping views beneath the midnight sun.

Those wishing to experience the area more actively may choose to hike to Kirkeporten, a striking natural rock arch with views towards the North Cape plateau, or enjoy a king crab experience in nearby Sarnes, sampling this prized Arctic delicacy beside an open fire. (Please note that these two excursions are not included in the cost of your voyage and should be booked in advance).

Later, continue cruising through the North Cape region, where the rugged meeting point of land and sea offers a memorable introduction to the raw beauty and unique light of the far north.

Bear Island (Bjørnøya)
4Day

Bear Island (Bjørnøya)

Sail past Bear Island, or Bjørnøya, the isolated southern outpost of Svalbard, where some of the most spectacular bird cliffs in the Barents Sea rise abruptly from the ocean. Near Kapp Kolthoff, the dark rock faces around Sørhamna provide nesting ledges for vast numbers of seabirds, creating an extraordinary concentration of Arctic wildlife. Puffins, gannets, kittiwakes, little auks, guillemots, skuas and gulls all gather here during the breeding season, filling the air with constant movement and sound.

The coastline itself is just as dramatic, shaped by the relentless force of the sea into towering stacks, caves and arches. Among the most striking features is Perleporten, a natural tunnel carved through the cliffs by wind and water over countless years. Cruising along this remote island offers a memorable encounter with one of the Arctic’s great seabird strongholds, where rugged scenery and thriving wildlife combine in a truly wild and elemental setting.

Exploring Svalbard
5 - 10Days

Exploring Svalbard

We now arrive amongst the dramatic wilderness of Svalbard, a land of towering glaciers, sculpted fjords and shifting sea ice deep within the Arctic Circle. This is true polar bear country, where the frozen expanses to the north provide vital hunting grounds, while nearer to Longyearbyen the landscape softens into tundra, open shores and sweeping Arctic vistas.

Each day brings the promise of new discoveries as your captain and expedition team adapt the route to make the most of weather, ice and wildlife sightings. In addition to polar bears, these remote islands are home to walrus, reindeer, ringed seals and Arctic foxes, offering exceptional wildlife-viewing throughout the voyage. Expect a rewarding mix of shore landings and Zodiac excursions, with optional kayaking also available for those wanting an even closer connection to this remarkable environment.

Longyearbyen to Copenhagen
11Day

Longyearbyen to Copenhagen

Your voyage comes to an end in Longyearbyen, the small but remarkably characterful settlement that serves as the gateway to Svalbard’s vast wilderness. After disembarkation, transfer to the airport for your included flight to Copenhagen, where your arrangements conclude.
