Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Reykjavik
1Day

Reykjavik

Arrive independently to Reykjavik, Iceland’s charismatic capital and the starting point for your photography expedition into the wild North Atlantic. After being met by an expedition representative, transfer to your included group hotel, where the expedition hospitality area provides a convenient place to leave luggage, enjoy refreshments and collect your cabin tags ahead of embarkation.

The remainder of the day is yours to spend at leisure. You may wish to explore Reykjavik’s colourful streets, harbourfront and striking modern architecture, or simply relax after your journey and make any final preparations before your voyage begins. Meals today are at your own expense.

Golden Circle & Embarkation
2Day

Golden Circle & Embarkation

This morning, set out to explore Iceland’s celebrated Golden Circle, a route rich in geological drama, cultural history and striking photographic subjects. Visit Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland’s first parliament was founded and where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates pull apart across a visible fissure. Continue to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, where powerful cascades plunge into the Hvítá River and create superb opportunities for dramatic landscape photography. Your journey continues among bubbling geothermal pools, steaming vents and erupting geysirs, a vivid reminder of the immense natural forces beneath Iceland’s surface.

Later this afternoon, return to Reykjavik and board your expedition vessel for the voyage ahead. After settling into your cabin and attending the necessary safety briefings, join your expedition team and crew for a welcome dinner as you set sail.

Dynjandi
3Day

Dynjandi

Your photographic journey begins in spectacular fashion with a wet landing at Dynjandi, one of the most striking natural landmarks in Iceland’s remote Westfjords. Often described as the jewel of the region, this magnificent waterfall tumbles around 100 metres down a series of tiered cliffs, widening as it falls and creating a truly impressive scene against the rugged fjordland backdrop.

For photographers, Dynjandi offers endless creative possibilities. Capture silky long exposures of cascading water, wide-angle compositions that frame the waterfall within its wild coastal setting, and intimate details of mossy rocks, flowing streams and shifting light. With brooding Icelandic skies and crisp northern air adding atmosphere, this is a superb first taste of the dramatic landscapes to come.

East Greenland
4 - 9Days

East Greenland

Over the coming days, your expedition enters the wild realm of East Greenland, where the itinerary is shaped by ice, weather and the best photographic opportunities of the moment. Guided by an experienced Expedition Team, you will explore by ship, Zodiac and on foot, with the aim of enjoying up to two landings or Zodiac excursions each day. This is one of the Arctic’s most dramatic regions, where deep fjords, narrow channels, towering ice-clad peaks and immense sculptural icebergs create extraordinary scenes in every direction.

Throughout this remote coastline, each day brings fresh inspiration for the lens. Expect mirror-like reflections on still fjord waters, the textures of ancient glaciers, autumn colours across the tundra, and the chance to encounter wildlife such as musk oxen, Arctic hare, Arctic fox, reindeer and a wealth of seabirds. You may visit the isolated Inuit settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit, explore traces of Thule culture, trappers’ huts and hunters’ cabins, or venture into the magnificent fjord systems of Scoresbysund, Kong Oskar and Kaiser Franz Josef. With golden-hour light, Zodiac cruising among ice, tundra walks, geological formations and expert photographic guidance throughout, these days promise true creative immersion in one of the world’s great wilderness landscapes.

At Sea
10Day

At Sea

After an unforgettable exploration of East Greenland, spend the day at sea as we cross the Denmark Strait back towards Iceland. This is a welcome chance to relax, reflect on the landscapes and encounters of the past week, and continue enjoying the programme of engaging onboard lectures from the expedition team and guest experts.

It is also an ideal opportunity to review your images, share highlights with fellow travellers and perhaps pick up final photography tips before the voyage draws to a close. This evening, gather for the Captain’s Farewell Reception, followed by a special four-course dinner and drinks.

Reykjavik - Disembark
11Day

Reykjavik - Disembark

In the early morning, the ship arrives in Reykjavik, marking the end of your Iceland and East Greenland photography expedition. After breakfast on board, disembark at approximately 8.00am and say farewell to your Expedition Team, crew and fellow travellers.

A transfer is included to Keflavik Airport for your onward journey. As you leave Iceland behind, you do so with memory cards filled with dramatic Arctic landscapes, sculptural ice, wild fjords and the many fleeting moments that made this voyage so special.
