Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

Reykjavik
1 - 2Days

Reykjavik

Your Icelandic adventure begins in Reykjavík, where colourful streets, striking architecture and a lively cultural scene provide an inviting introduction to the country. Having arrived here independently, make your way to the hotel for your included overnight stay. Spend time exploring at your own pace, perhaps visiting Hallgrímskirkja, browsing local museums and galleries, or relaxing in one of the city’s geothermal pools.

The following morning is yours to enjoy before transferring to the port to board the Sea Spirit in the afternoon. Once settled on board, set sail from Reykjavík and leave the capital behind as your expedition around Iceland begins, opening the door to remote coastlines, dramatic fjords and some of the island’s most spectacular natural wonders.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula
3Day

Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Our first adventure takes us to the spectacular Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often described as “Iceland in Miniature” for the remarkable variety of landscapes found here. Expect rugged sea cliffs, black-sand beaches, sweeping lava fields and volcanic scenery, all set beneath the peninsula’s dramatic mountains and glaciers.

As you explore, look out for tumbling waterfalls and the distinctive silhouette of Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most photographed peaks and familiar to fans of Game of Thrones. With its ever-changing scenery and wild Atlantic setting, Snæfellsnes offers an unforgettable introduction to Iceland’s extraordinary natural beauty.

Dynjandi Waterfall - Suðureyri
4Day

Dynjandi Waterfall - Suðureyri

This morning, venture into the remote Westfjords, one of Iceland’s wildest and least-visited regions. A Zodiac landing brings you ashore near Dynjandi, a spectacular waterfall that plunges around 100 metres over a series of broad basalt ledges, creating its distinctive tiered appearance.

Later, continue to Suðureyri, a small fishing village surrounded by steep mountains and dramatic coastal scenery. Spend time discovering this peaceful community and sample authentic local flavours while gaining an insight into everyday life in this far-flung corner of Iceland.

Siglufjörður & Grímsey Island
5Day

Siglufjörður & Grímsey Island

Your first stop today will see you discover Siglufjörður, a characterful harbour town shaped by its rich maritime past. Once the centre of Iceland’s booming herring industry, the town’s fascinating story comes to life at the Herring Era Museum, with time to sample local herring and Brennivín, visit Frida’s renowned chocolate shop, and perhaps call in at the local brewery.

In the afternoon, take to the Zodiacs for the journey to Grímsey Island, set directly on the Arctic Circle. Here, dramatic cliffs provide nesting grounds for thousands of seabirds, while green meadows and sweeping ocean views create a wonderfully remote setting. A small 19th-century driftwood church adds another distinctive landmark to this isolated Arctic island.

Akureyri - Lake Mývatn
6Day

Akureyri - Lake Mývatn

Today’s adventures begin in Akureyri, the lively capital of northern Iceland, beautifully positioned at the head of Eyjafjörður and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. From here, we’ll travel inland towards Lake Mývatn, where steaming geothermal vents, lava formations and stark volcanic landscapes create some of the country’s most otherworldly scenery.

Along the way, visit Goðafoss, the dramatic “Waterfall of the Gods”, before continuing to Dettifoss. Renowned for its immense power, this thundering cascade is one of Iceland’s most impressive natural sights and a fitting finale to a day filled with geological wonders.

Seyðisfjörður
7Day

Seyðisfjörður

Today you arrive in Seyðisfjörður, a picturesque town tucked between steep mountains and cascading waterfalls on Iceland’s eastern coast. Colourful 19th-century wooden houses line the waterfront, giving the town a distinctive character and creating a beautiful contrast with the still waters of the surrounding fjord.

Later, continue to Lake Urriðavatn for a relaxing soak in geothermal waters surrounded by sweeping mountain and lakeside views. With warm thermal pools beneath you and cool Icelandic air all around, it’s a wonderfully peaceful way to experience the country’s dramatic natural landscape.

Djúpivogur
8Day

Djúpivogur

This morning, explore the tranquil fishing village of Djúpivogur, set against a backdrop of rugged mountains, sheltered fjords and sweeping coastal scenery. A guided walk leads along black-sand beaches and peaceful lagoons, with chances to spot puffins, Arctic terns and other seabirds along the way.

Continue across small islands connected by natural sandbars and visit a traditional birdwatching hut for a closer look at the area’s rich birdlife.

Vestmannaeyjar Archipelago
9Day

Vestmannaeyjar Archipelago

Your final adventure brings you to the volcanic Westman Islands, one of Iceland’s most dramatic island groups and a landscape still visibly shaped by recent geological activity. Steep cliffs rise from the sea, while rich feeding grounds support large colonies of seabirds around the archipelago.

On Heimaey, discover the story of the 1973 Eldfell eruption, which dramatically transformed the island and buried parts of the town beneath ash and lava. A visit to the Eldheimar Museum brings this extraordinary event to life through engaging exhibits and first-hand accounts of the eruption and its aftermath.

Reykjavík - Disembark
10Day

Reykjavík - Disembark

Your thrilling Iceland Circumnavigation cruise comes to an end today as you disembark back in Reykjavík. After breakfast it will be time to disembark and bid farewell to the crew and expedition team. A group transfer will be provided either to the airport or to a downtown location.
