When to Visit
Peak summer months are from December to February, which is the most pleasant time for a New Zealand tour, although most cruises start in early October and finish at the end of April. From July (the first month of winter), there is very little cruise activity.
One of the best ways to discover the country is by water. Accompanied by an experienced team of destination experts you’ll explore the incredible coastal highlights and pack more into your trip.
Combine your Trip with Other Destinations
Wildfoot’s selection of cruises give you the flexibility to combine a New Zealand tour with nearby countries that offer just as much in the way of wildlife and incredible scenery. You could combine with Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and even Antarctica!
We highly recommend the spectacular sub-Antarctic Islands for adventure lovers. Comprising the Bounty Islands, the Snares, Campbell Island, Macquarie Island, the Antipodes and the Auckland Islands, you’ll explore dramatic landscapes and encounter unique and prolific wildlife.
Every vessel-based trip Wildfoot offers includes a choice of excursions at each destination. Accompanied by experienced guides you can enjoy guided walks and hikes, visits to areas of interest, city tours, unforgettable shore visits, thrilling Zodiac cruises and much more.

About New Zealand
Wildfoot’s itineraries take you to the Land of the Long White Cloud to explore its spectacular blend of ancient and contemporary culture, unending picture-perfect landscape and a mind-blowing range of birdlife and wildlife. With the beauty of a film set and an array of adventurous opportunities to delight even the most ardent of thrill-seekers, this dramatically diverse country offers an authentic experience to remember.
There are so many awe-inspiring natural wonders packed into a compact area, it’s hard to know which way to turn. That’s where we come in. Lush rainforests, deep icy fjords, shimmering turquoise lakes, remote pristine beaches, snow-capped peaks and thousands of kilometres of rugged coastline are in contrast to the vibrant cultural overload of the country’s capital, Wellington, the art deco character of Napier, French-inspired Akaroa and Scottish-influenced Dunedin - but somehow it just works.
Absolutely made for small ship expeditions and cruises, travelling by water is the most wonderful way to explore. The geography comprises the more populated North Island, Stewart Island and the spectacular South Island with its breath-taking Lord of the Rings landscape. The blend of traditional Maori culture, nature and high-octane outdoor activities brings out the best in any adventurous traveller, with an ambience that’s completely unique to the land the Maoris call Aotearoa.
When you’re ready to dive into adventure, get in touch with Wildfoot’s team of experts. They all have personal experience with the destinations we offer so can help you create the best possible itinerary for a holiday you’ll never forget.
