The Coco Islands is one of the most impressive diving destinations in the world, home to an incredible number of species of coral, crustaceans, mollusks and over 300 species of fish. These include yellowfin tuna, giant mantas, sailfish, and sharks, such as the whitetip reef shark, and even the largest of all species of fish, the whale shark.

10 Days Scuba Diving in the Coco Islands

The Coco Islands is Costa Rica's most isolated national park, situated approximately 535 kilometres South West off the Pacific coast. It will take up to 36 hours aboard your dive boat to arrive at this incredible destination with an abundance of natural resources and marine life.

But it's below the surface that the Coco Islands start to come to life, with up to 532 Km2 of protected marine area, making the Coco Islands a must on any divers list. home to an incredible number of species of coral, crustaceans, mollusks and over 300 species of fish. These include yellowfin tuna, giant mantas, sailfish and sharks, such as whitetip reef shark, and even the largest of all species of fish, the whale shark

Other large marine animals include humpback whales, pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, sea lions and various species of turtles

Excursions usually depart twice a month and are taken aboard a 120 ft boat with capacity for up to 22 people.It has all the necessities for this type of trip. Accommodation comprises of 9 double cabins and 2 master suites, comfortable areas are available outdoors to rest for your next dive.

Diving Details:

  • Total of 3 daily dives are included in the package, although the trip is 10 days    long, a 36 hour journey each way is required to get to the island and back,    leaving 7 days for diving, 2 extra dives will be at night (subject to weather conditions and park regulations)
  • Level of diving required is Advanced / NITROX, most dives will be very deep and 60 minute per tank

Transfer to San Jose with guided visit to Poas Volcano National Park

After breakfast, take a group transfer to San Jose to meet your private guide and transportation for a guided visit to Poas Volcano Natl. Park. The Poas Volcano is an active 10.000 ft stratovolcano located in the forests of the Central Mountain Range and covering an area of approximately 65 square kilometres (16,000 acres). Among its main attractions, the Poas features one of the largest craters in the world, a cool, blue lagoon (Botos) located on a long-extinct cone crater and an extensive network of trails in a dense cloud tropical forest. Following this visit, you will be transferred to your hotel in San Jose.
