Victoria Falls, Okavango, Chobe & Makgadikgadi
Victoria Falls, Okavango, Chobe & Makgadikgadi
This fantastic journey blends four of Southern Africa’s most iconic regions into one seamless adventure, starting at mighty Victoria Falls before crossing into Botswana for three very different safari experiences. Begin with a relaxed arrival in Victoria Falls, where you can choose how to spend your time, from classic viewpoints and river cruises to high-adrenaline activities.
From there, the focus turns firmly to game viewing. Explore the elephant-rich Chobe Riverfront by 4x4 and by boat, where huge herds gather on the floodplains alongside buffalo, hippo and predators working the river’s edge. Next, fly into the Okavango Delta and arrive by helicopter at Karangoma Camp, immersing yourself in a world of waterways, floodplains and big wildlife encounters by day and night game drives, guided walks, and (season permitting) mokoro and boating. Your safari ends on the Boteti River at Moela, where Makgadikgadi’s desert-edge drama plays out at the waterline with zebra and wildebeest crowds, elephant activity, and rewarding seasonal birdlife.

Chobe Elephant Camp
Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the famous Chobe River is the excellent Chobe Elephant Camp. This uniquely designed lodge has been built to take advantage of the incredible views overlooking the sweeping floodplains while offering a comfortable stay after a long day of exploration.
The lodge has been entirely constructed from sandbags, the thick sand-filled walls create a natural insulating barrier between the inhabitants and the harsh African climate and enhance the old farm-style feel of the camp. It houses ten rooms, one family room and can sleep 24 guests at a time.
With a variety of activities that include viewing the regions spectacular wildlife from open safari vehicles, by boat on the Chobe River or experiencing life in the village, a visit to Chobe Elephant Camp offers a wide range of experiences.
This property is located near the Ngoma Gate for entry to the Chobe Riverfront. Very few lodges are located on this end of the park and few people utilize this entry point, creating a more remote and exclusive experience than at the properties around Kasane. Although outside the park, this option is located in a bush setting where wildlife frequently passes through.
Pioneers, Victoria Falls
Pioneers Victoria Falls is situated in the quiet suburbs of Victoria Falls’ residential area, 2.5 kilometres from the Falls. This welcoming B&B offers 50 elegant en-suite rooms all designed to embrace the Zimbabwean Pioneer era, with private verandas overlooking the beautifully manicured gardens and pool. All rooms at Pioneers are air conditioned and have free limited WiFi. The lodge has four family rooms making it ideal for families.
At the heart of the lodge is a snug lounge, an indoor and outdoor dining area, curio shop, as well as a terrace opening onto the pool and lush garden area. Activities in Victoria Falls (at an additional cost) can be arranged at the activities desk.
Karangoma Camp, Okavango Delta
Karangoma Camp is an intimate tented hideaway tucked along the scenic Magwegqana Channel in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, surrounded by a patchwork of floodplains and mirror-still lagoons. Its name, from the Sembukushu word for drum beating and ancestral healing, hints at the deep cultural roots of this landscape, a place where wildlife, water and tradition are closely intertwined.
With just six spacious tented suites, including a family tent, the camp feels peaceful and personal. Each suite sits on a low wooden deck and comes with ensuite facilities plus both indoor and outdoor showers looking out over the floodplain. Central lounge and dining areas open onto wide Delta views, with a fire pit for starlit evenings and a plunge pool for hot afternoons. Days are spent exploring by vehicle, on foot, or gliding through the channels by mokoro or boat (seasonal and water-level dependent), before returning to a camp that combines modern comfort with a strong sense of place.
Moela Safari Lodge, Makgadikgadi Pans
Moela Safari Lodge is perched high on the banks of the Boteti River, looking out across a vast natural “amphitheatre” of game-rich plains on the edge of Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. This solar-powered lodge has just eight open-plan thatched suites, including two family rooms, each with a private viewing deck so you can watch elephants, zebra and other wildlife drifting down to the valley below without even leaving your room. Built by skilled artisans from nearby Khumaga village, the lodge blends traditional African textures with clean, modern lines, from handmade clay bricks to beautifully detailed thatch and timberwork.
At the heart of Moela, an airy main area brings together an open-plan dining room, bar, library, swimming pool with daybeds and multiple viewing decks, all perfectly positioned for river and sunset views. Activities available depending on duration of stay include a bucket-list sleep-out on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, reached by helicopter or game drive, to spend a night under an impossibly starry sky. Other activities include game drives and nature and San Bushman walks. Accessible by road from Maun or via nearby Khumaga Airstrip, Moela Safari Lodge offers a stylish, quietly luxurious base for exploring one of Botswana’s most intriguing and dramatic landscapes.
