Your Itinerary Accommodation

Camp Okavango

Recently extensively refurbished, this enchanting and authentically African safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island in Botswana's magnificent Okavango Delta, a maze of deep lagoons, large lakes and hidden, meandering channels where an abundance of wildlife prospers on the permanent waters of this unique environment.

This hidden treasure in the heart of the Delta offers an all year round water wilderness experience and accommodation is provided in 12 brand new, spacious and luxurious suites which were designed to be a haven of comfort and luxury. Each suite has been raised off the ground to ensure better viewing opportunities and boasting private viewing decks with sun loungers, his & her showers and basins, clear view fronts overlooking different parts of the island and comfortable lounge areas, these safari suites merge the true Okavango Delta experience with ultimate luxury.

Camp Okavango, one of the oldest properties in the Okavango Delta, underwent a complete rebuild and reopened in April 2016.

The rebuild saw the lodge being moved forward on the island to bring guests closer to the Delta system that the island is surrounded by. The whole lodge is now raised on wooden walkways and provides an exceptional in-lodge experience as guests can move freely through the island, observing the wonders it showcases from above the ground.

The main area of the Okavango Camp consists of a cocktail bar, lounge and wildlife reference library along with a beautiful dining area which leads onto an expansive open-air patio for lunches and evenings around the fire. There is also a sundeck with a refreshing plunge pool and a bird viewing hide.

Activities on offer at Camp Okavango are mainly focused around water based adventures including motorboat rides through the Delta and Mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) excursions. Guided bush walks on neighbouring islands are also offered, giving guests the chance to witness some of the larger land-based species that inhabit this water wilderness. Birding opportunities are also outstanding and fishing on a catch and release basis is also very popular.

Camp Xakanaxa, Khwai River

Situated in a prime location on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) Lagoon, this authentic and stylish camp in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve is one of the finest camps in Botswana, offering an all year round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience.

Accommodation is provided in 12 spacious and elegant classic Meru-style safari tents, each of which has an en-suite bathroom, stylish furnishings and large comfortable beds. The tents are positioned around the fringe of the lagoon and each tent has its own private viewing deck with comfortable loungers where guests can relax and take in their beautiful surroundings. Camp Xakanaxa is one of the few camps in Botswana which still offers the essence of a classic tented camp.

The stylish main camp area has a warm and friendly atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a long day of game-viewing and exploring this magnificent area. The main buildings extend over the Khwai River and are set on raised platforms so as to maximise the views over the surrounding lagoons and islands. The elegant lounge and dining rooms, built of local timber, reed and thatch, feature a small library, expansive sundeck, plunge pool and sala with day bed. The fire-deck extends over the Khwai River and creates an enchanting environment in which to relax after dinner. There is also a larger pool with elevated sun deck in the expansive grounds.

The ancient riverine forests, open savannah, serpentine channels and seasonal floodplains that surround the camp make for a varied habitat of exceptional fauna and flora. The camp is one of few offering a year-round land and water game-viewing experience, in open 4x4 safari vehicles or powerboats. The diverse habitat ensures prolific sightings of Elephant, Buffalo, Hyena, Giraffe, Hippo, Wildebeest, Kudu, Lechwe, Lion and Leopard, among many others. Birding is spectacular, especially in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding.

Chobe Game Lodge

Situated within the famous Chobe National Park this exclusive safari lodge is the only permanent game lodge within the park and offers a perfect base from which to explore its wonders.
This five-star lodge is one of the most luxurious lodges in Botswana and offers accommodation for up to 94 people in sublime luxury. Each of the delightful rooms in the lodge face the wonderful Chobe River and all have air conditioning, complimentary mini-bar, en-suite bathrooms, private terraces and elegant and comfortable furnishings. On top of this there is a complimentary gymnasium and delightful beauty and pamper treatments are available at an extra charge from the in-house beautician.

Whilst the abundance of wildlife inhabiting the area can be seen from many of the view points around the lodge, the best way to experience these magnificent creatures up close is to partake in one of the many land or water-based activities on offer. Chobe Game Lodge offers the most complete game experience in the Chobe National Park and early morning and afternoon game drives are a fantastic way to see the park's spectacular scenery and the diverse wildlife which roams in abundance, including the largest concentration of elephant in Africa, large herds of buffalo, lion, African wild dog, lechwe, roan antelope and giraffe amongst many other wonderful species.

Botswana was everything we wanted it to be....spectacular wildlife everywhere and couldn’t believe how close we were! Thank you to your team for all your help in making it possible.
I just want to say a massive thank you for organising our trip to Botswana. From our very first conversation, I knew we were in safe hands, you were so knowledgeable and super-efficient that I had no doubt this was going to be the holiday of a lifetime and it was! Our two children loved every minute, especially the meerkats at Jack’s Camp so thanks for the recommendation and who can forget the bungee jump at Vic Falls!!!! We can’t wait to start planning our next family adventure with you, thank you so much.
There were so many highlights, where to start! Seeing Victoria Falls for the first time, the hot air balloon ride over the delta, watching wild dogs chase a leopard at Selinda, quad biking over the Salt Flats, the list goes on. This really was a trip that will stay close to our hearts for a very long time. The whole Wildfoot Team went the extra mile for us from beginning to end and we can’t thank you enough, we will happily recommend you to friends and family in the future.
The tented camps worked well and the bathrooms were more civilised than expected so feel we made the right choice after all. Really enjoyed the range of activities offered at each of the camps, the mokoro ride and walking safaris being particular good. Got lucky and saw a pride of lions take down a buffalo at Savuti and a wild dog kill at Mfuwe. No lucky with cheetah unfortunately, but now we have a reason to go back!
As expected, I have fallen in love with Botswana, without a doubt head and shoulders above any other safari experience. I was so lucky with wildlife with big cat sightings most days, several packs of wild dog and even a pangolin! There is nothing I would have wanted to change, a fantastic holiday from beginning to end, thank you so much for all your help and guidance thorough out.
It was a real privilege to have such an outstanding and knowledgeable guide - he was excellent company. The tents and camps were first-rate in terms of comfort, service and location.
We have recently returned from a holiday to Botswana that you organised for us and we just want to say thanks for all the work that you put into it. The holiday was fantastic - hotels/lodges were great, wildlife spectacular, people friendly, guides flexible and knowledgeable and the variety of locations perfect. The time of year was ideal for seeing the beginning of the change in the landscape at the start of the rainy season. All the arrangements ran like clockwork and there was even somebody there at Maun airport at the end of our trip to ensure all had gone well. We will certainly consider using Wildfoot again for our future travel plans.Thank you again.
Fabulous knowledge and customer service. Only back a week and already planning our next trip with them - surely that says it all
