Experience magnificent Arctic scenery up-close and join us on a summer adventure to beautiful Isfjord Radio at Cape Linnè. We will embark from Longyearbyen by boat, enjoying the fantastic fjord, the bird cliffs and the animal wildlife along the way. Far away from the civilization of Longyearbyen you’ll discover the history, biological diversity and geological conditions which make Isfjord Radio such a fascinating place to visit. The former radio station is situated at the outermost part of the Isfjord with majestic mountains overlooking the Arctic Ocean. Now a boutique hotel, this unique accommodation enjoys a level of quality, luxury and comfort that is unexpected so far into the wilderness.
With excellent wildlife & birdlife opportunities and exploration of Kapp Starostin, the mighty bird cliffs of Alkhornet, Trygghamna, Barentsburg and the fantastic Esmark Glacier in Ymerbukta, this is an excellent opportunity to experience the Arctic wilderness in all its glory.

Boat Safari from Longyearbyen to Isfjord Radio
Your guide will meet you in the reception of your Longyearbyen hotel at 5pm, where you will receive all of the information about the trip, equipment and outfit details. Transport to the quay, where the polarcircelboat is ready to start the safari tour towards Isfjord Radio. On the way, we have time to enjoy the fantastic fjord scenery, animal wildlife and Arctic seabirds. We spend the late afternoon exploring the great area of Kapp Linné, and learn more about the wildlife at the station, before settling down in your luxury wilderness accommodation. A delicious 3-course dinner will be served in the evening. Accommodation for the next 2 nights in Isfjord Radio Hotel on a full-board basis.
Boat Safari Around the Fjord
Breakfast is served from 8.00 am. After breakfast we will board the boat for an exciting safari to the west side of the fjord. The route will go eastwards along the coastline before crossing Isfjorden at Kapp Starostin and go straight to the mighty bird cliffs of Alkehornet where you will find thousands of nesting birds. In Trygghamna we go ashore and enjoy expedition lunch at the beach. After lunch, we’ll have a closer look at the area before heading to the fantastic Esmark Glacier in Ymerbukta. If we’re lucky, we might observe whales, seals or even get a glimpse of the “king of the Artic”, the polar bear. Upon return to the hotel you can enjoy an exhilarating dip in the icy waters followed by a warm-up in the sauna before your 3-course dinner in the evening. As you settle down for the night in your very comfortable bedroom surrounded by the Arctic silence, you may realise that you’ve just had one of the best days of your life.
Return to Longyearbyen via Barentsburg
Breakfast is followed by a new day of adventure as we say goodbye to Isfjord Radio and pack our bags ready to head to the boat. We will go to Grønfjorden and the Russian settlement Barentsburg. Barentsburg is a mining city with approximately 350 residents and is a fascinating place to visit. We will go ashore and take a tour around the town before a light lunch is served in the brewery. After lunch we head back to the boat and set course towards Longyearbyen, making several interesting stops along the way. We will arrive back in Longyearbyen in the late afternoon.
