Patagonia, Pumas & Glaciers

Your adventure begins in the Chilean city of Punta Arenas, where after having arrived independently you will be taken to your transfer to the fantastic Hotel Las Torres Patagonia in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. On the way you will be taken to your included visit to the Cerro Negro Ranch. Here you will experience life in a typical Patagonia ranch and enjoy an authentic sheep sheepdog and sheep shearing show organised by the ranch workers before a traditional lunch is served at the ranch.

In the afternoon you will arrive at the hotel and the rest of the evening will be at your leisure. You may wish to learn about some of the fantastic excursions included here or simply relax after a long day in your comfortable hotel surrounded by stunning Patagonian landscapes. You will also be given an informative talk and brief on the Puma Watching Experience that will begin the following day.

4 nights’ accommodation in Hotel Las Torres Patagonia on an all-inclusive basis including all meals, open bar with local beverages, excursions, puma watching experience and ranch visit.

Over the next two days you will enjoy your thrilling puma watching experience! With an early start each morning, you will join your group (maximum 7 participants) led by an expert in puma-watching, observation and photography to travel across the hotel grounds or the Torres del Paine National Park in search of unrivalled puma encounters. Each day your guide will determine will the best place for sighting opportunities and you will learn all about these iconic animal’s behaviours and habitats. You will return to the hotel for lunch each day before venturing out again and returning for dinner at 7pm.

On your final day in Torres Del Paine you can choose from a wide range of included excursions designed to showcase this remarkable part of the world. Half day and full day tours are available to various parts of the park and a full list will be provided to you upon booking. Options include, but are not limited to, horseback riding, rock climbing, trekking, boat rides, ranch visits and glacier visits. Visit canyons, lakes, lagoons and forests, trek to outstanding viewpoints, take the trails through the famous Cuernos (Horns) of Torres del Paine and soak up every part of this incredible National Park.

Delicious packed lunches will be provided for full day tours or for half-day tours you can return to the hotel for lunch.

On the morning of day 5 you will set off on the approximately 4-hour drive to the beautiful Esplendor by Wyndham in El Calafate, the gateway to the incredible Los Glaciares National Park. Upon arrival you will check in and have the rest of the day at your leisure. This will be the perfect time to relax after an exciting few days and with more excitement to come.

The next two days will be dedicated to exploring the unforgettable Los Glaciares National Park and the incredible Perito Moreno Glacier. On day 6 we will take the 80km bus ride to the park accompanied by a National Park Guide, stopping for photos and learning all about the history and geology of the area and the fascinating mysticism surrounding the glacier along the way. We will reach the Andean Patagonian forest area and make our way to “Curva de los Suspiros” (Sighs Curve), for our first unforgettable sighting of the Perito Moreno. The rest of the day will be spent walking through the trails to the platforms and balconies that offer jaw-dropping viewpoints.

Day 7 will offer one of the most incredible experiences that can be had in the glaciers area as you partake in “Big Ice”, a breathtaking visit to the spectacular heart of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Firstly, you will take a thrilling boat ride across the Brazo Rici from Puerto Bajo Las Sombras. You will then take an hour long hike along the southern glacier where your guides will help you with your harnesses and crampons to begin your route across the glacier. You will experience a new world unfolding in front of your eyes as completely surrounded by the awe-inspiring ice you will explore impressive caves, crevices and blue lagoons, learning all about the environment and wildlife of the region as you go. As you enjoy lunch on the glacier this may well be one of the most memorable moments of your whole trip, if not your whole life, as the reality of walking on the most incredible glacier on the planet begins to set in.

The last adventure on our thrilling South America tour will take us to Buenos Aires, one of the finest and most vibrant capital cities in the world. On the morning of day 8 your transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires where you will check into the Hotel Esplendor in the wonderful Recoleta area for your 3 nights stay.

The following day will be one to remember as you join your city tour which will take you to some of this magnificent city’s many highlights including the Colón Theatre, the famous obelisk, the metropolitan Cathedral and the Casa Rosada (Governmental Palace). You will visit famous neighbourhoods including Palermo, San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero and La Recoleta. Your evening will end on a high as you attend a fantastic Tango Show at the renowned Café de los Angelitos with a gourmet 3 course dinner included.

The following day is at your leisure and you may wish to explore more of this remarkable city. Maybe take in a show, visit the Recoleta Cemetery, explore the markets or attend a football game. On day 14 a transfer will be provided to the airport for your onward or homeward flights.
