Arrive independently to Panama City. Pick up at the airport by our guide who will help with the transfer to the Hotel in the city, about 30 minutes away. The guide will also provide important information regarding the rest of trip.

The tour starts at the Panama Canal, a magnificent work of engineering, actually the greatest and most expensive human feat of the time. After 30/40 minutes, you will reach the Visitor Center of Miraflores Locks, from which you will be able to see closely the ships moving along the canal, and the way it operates. Forthwith, you will visit the Amador Causeway, which offers one of the city’s most spectacular panoramic views. Lunch will be served at one of the local restaurants in the city. The tour continues in the Old Quarter of Panama City, the historic center of San Felipe declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997, thanks to its eclectic fusion of colonial, neoclassic and French architecture. This stop includes a walk in the streets, squares and gravel roads and a visit of emblematic colonial buildings, churches and palaces.

On the morning of day 3 you will join your transfer from Panama City to Anton Valley where you will check into the wonderful Canopy Lodge Hotel.

Transfer to Albrook Domestic Airport to board your flight from Panama City to Bocas del Toro. Arrival and transfer to Tranquilo Bay Eco Adventure Lodge. Located in the rainforest, expect to see and hear all kinds of wildlife here. Surrounded by hummingbirds, sloths, frogs, and lizards this is a nature lovers paradise.

Today you will fly back to Panama City and check into the Riande Aeropuerto Hotel for an overnight stay for a rest before your early transfer the following morning.

Early this morning you will transfer from the hotel to Darién where you will check in to the beautiful Canopy Camp Hotel.

Darién, Panama’s eastern-most region, is perhaps the most diverse and species-rich region of Central America. Long coveted by avid birders as an impenetrable haven for rare species, this region is now readily accessible by a highway extending through the spine of Panama right into the heart of this bird-rich land. During this exciting, highly recommended 3-night adventure, you will visit, en route to the Canopy Camp, the Bayano Reservoir, to look for such specialties as the starkly beautiful Black Antshrike, Rufous-winged Antwren and stunning Orangecrowned Oriole.

In Darién, you will visit large tracts of mature lowland rainforest to seek out Rufouswinged Antwren, Bare-crowned Antbird and Golden-green Woodpecker; and the swampy meadows along the Pan-American Highway, the haunts of the magnificent Spot-breasted Woodpecker!

You will enjoy great birding on this Panama wildlife tour through the mature secondary forests, tranquil lagoons and riversides of this region, where we hope to get excellent views of Stripe-throated Wren, Black-collared Hawk, Black-capped Donacobius, Yellow-hooded Blackbird, Large-billed Seed-Finch and others.

After each day of your Panama birding tour, you will spend your nights at Canopy Camp Darien, where you will enjoy comfortable, large, safari-style tent accommodations, each with full-size beds, private bathroom facilities with refreshing showers, flush toilets, electricity from solar panels, and fans. The protected forests of the Filo del Tallo Hydrological Reserve surround the camp.

In the vicinity of the camp itself you will enjoy such regional specialties as Gray-cheeked Nunlet, Whiteheaded Wren, Rufous-tailed Jacamar and Pale-bellied Hermit right in the gardens!
