Chimpanzee Trekking

Your Chimpanzee Trekking experience is here! Meet your trekking group at Uganda Wildlife Authority HQ at Kayanchu Gate for a short briefing before heading into the forest with a guide. Spend one hour with the Chimpanzees once located to avoid human habituation.

In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-based program supporting local residents. Spot rare mammals like webbed feet sitatunga and birds like the great blue turaco that call the Magombe Swamp home. Alternatively, bush pigs, black and white colobus monkeys and over 200 bird species also inhabit the swamp. Witness the healthy link between tourism and the community it impacts.
