Buenos Aires to Ushuaia - Embark
Your Antarctica, South Georgia and Falklands cruise begins in the vibrant Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires where, having arrived independently, you will join your included flight to Ushuaia at the very southern tip of Argentina. Upon arrival in Ushuaia, you will join your transfer to the port to board your fantastic expedition ship. Enjoy a welcome glass of champagne as you settle into your beautiful cabin and familiarise yourself with the luxury amenities onboard before enjoying your first delicious meal as we set sail out through the scenic Beagle Channel.
We recommend arriving in Buenos Aires a few days before your itinerary begins to allow you to sample some of the many wonders of this enchanting city. Multiple pre-cruise packages are available so please enquire if this is something which may be of interest to you.
We will now spend the day at sea sailing towards the Falkland Islands. Enjoy the many facilities onboard including 3 first-class restaurants, the Ocean Spa, swimming pool and the excellent interactive Ocean Academy centre. Your programme of presentations and multimedia lectures delivered by an experienced team of experts from various disciplines will entertain you throughout and offer fascinating insights into the areas you will visit on your journey. Make sure to spend some time on deck or in the wonderful observation spaces looking for sightings of unique seabirds and marine mammals.
Stanley, Falkland Islands
The first stop on your Antarctic expedition will take you to the beautiful Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) where you will spend an enjoyable day exploring around the charming capital Stanley. Join the experts for a nature walk along the coast or visit the world’s southernmost Anglican church. Your visit here will also include an insight into the archipelago’s recent and not so recent history, including memorial sites.
We now spend 2 days at sea sailing towards South Georgia. Your programme of expert lectures and presentations will continue and there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the comforts of your first-class expedition ship.
Welcome to the wildlife paradise of South Georgia, where incredible scenery and remote beaches bustling with thousands upon thousands of penguins will be the sight that greets you and a sight that will live long in the memory. Your 2 days of exploration here will offer an unforgettable insight into this remarkable place where hundreds of thousands of penguins sharing the island with elephant seals and fur seals blanket the steep slopes and rugged coastlines. You will land at a number of incredibly scenic spots to witness this natural marvel up-close as well as learning all about the island’s history and strong links to the legendary explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton whose final resting place can also be found here.
We now spend the day at sea sailing towards the wonders of Antarctica, heading towards the mystical icy world of the Weddell Sea.
It’s now time for 6 days of truly unforgettable exploration of the incredible white continent of Antarctica. As with all Polar expeditions, weather and ice conditions may dictate certain routes taken during your time here, and your experienced captain and crew will chart the perfect course for thrilling icy adventures and wildlife opportunities. Throughout your time here you will enjoy exciting Zodiac cruises and land visits accompanied by your team of Antarctica experts.
Your first area for exploration is likely to be around the icy wonderland of the Antarctic Sound and Weddell Sea where the spectacular tabular icebergs of all shapes and sizes are certain to impress and fill your cameras. Other scenic delights here will include the tuya volcano (flat-topped volcano) Brown Bluff where the imposing cliffs rising between two mighty glaciers is a breathtaking sight.
On the Antarctic Peninsula itself you will explore around incredibly impressive areas such as the majestic glaciers and gigantic icebergs of Paradise Bay and the awe-inspiring, picture perfect shipping passage of the Lemaire Channel. In the South Shetland islands we will also hope to explore around the legendary Elephant Island where Shackleton’s team held out for months, and the beautiful flooded caldera of Deception Island.
At Sea - Drake Passage
Leaving the majestic wonders of Antarctica behind, we will now sail into the legendary Drake Passage to begin our journey back towards Ushuaia. Catch the last presentations and lectures, savour the first-class cuisine onboard and enjoy some well-earned relaxation after what will have been an unforgettable last 16 days.
Ushuaia Disembark - Fly to Buenos Aires
Your expedition concludes back in Ushuaia this morning where it will be time to disembark and join your included flight back to Buenos Aires.

Now that I am back from my odyssey voyage, I thought I would let you know that after all that planning it really did exceed my expectations – we managed landings everywhere even on Tristan da Cuhna and had great bird sightings. The guides all knew what they were talking about too and made sure I got some great photos – still sorting them all out! Thanks for everything and see you at Birdfair!Dave Martin
I want to thank you for all you did to make my recent Falklands trip run so smoothly and comfortably. Thank you for all your help over the diet too.Dr Lorna Mairs
Just a quick note to express my sincere thanks to you and all your staff for making this an epic adventure of immense proportions. Everything went smoothly, pickups, hotels and most of all the expedition itself. Truly a mind blowing experience unlike any I have ever taken.Mr J Borg, Malta
